I was reading an earlier post about birth control and smoking, and how it's a bad combination. I was wondering if that applied to ganja smoking as well. I'm not on BC, but I toke, so the thought crossed my mind when reading, and I figured I'd see what people have to say. Theres probably not much research out there about it either.

someone actually just asked this in the birthcontrol community, so i'll c&p what i posted there:

carbon monoxide -- which is found in both cigarette and marijuana smoke -- stresses the heart and cardiovascular system. combined with oral contraceptives, the carbon monoxide contained in smoke could trigger a heart attack or stroke.

i don't know how high these particular risks are, but they are there. it's difficult to find such information since marijuana is illegal, and i assume not many people would like to spend the money and time on a clinical trial involving the substance
