Looking for a particular razor.
May. 8th, 2003 03:22 amSome time ago, someone on this community posted much glowing praise about a particular electric razor. I remember that they had only used it for pubic hair and it was recommended by exotic dancers here for that purpose, but I seem to recall from the website that it could be used for any part of the body. I also remember that it came with a trimmer, was around $60US, and I think it could be used wet or dry but I'm not entirely sure about that.
I bookmarked it, but I unfortunately had a major browser crash and lost all of my bookmarks, and I can't find it in the archives. My mother was very easily convinced that she needs one as well, so we're going to order two to be delivered to her home in the US as I think that the company (which may have been a Yahoo! store) doesn't deliver to the UK or if it does that the shipping is atrociously and prohibitively expensive. As my husband is visiting the area in which my parents live for a business trip from this weekend to next weekend, I'm hoping that the razors can be ordered and delivered before he returns home.
Can anyone help? Even if you can't provide a URL, a name or something identifiable so I can look it up on Google would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Date: 2003-05-07 09:15 pm (UTC)I absolutely suggest getting the combo with the Femini, which is a trimmer, to use before the razor itself.
Both are wonderful, no cuts, nicks, red bumps, shaving rash, razor burn, ANYTHING. They're fantastic!
Mine was delivered (to Australia, mind you) in about 5 days.

Date: 2003-05-08 08:21 am (UTC)Closer than I've ever gotten with a wetshave, to the point where it didn't look like I even had any hair there, rather than it just being really short. I love it!

Date: 2003-05-08 02:53 pm (UTC)It's the same one, actually, but a different website. Yay, more choice!

I'm a bit confused by the difference between the Ladyfair trimmer and the Femini trimmer. Can you shed some light on this? Also, one site says that the Femini can be used on arms and legs as well, but the other just says arms; can it be used for either, and how exactly does that work considering it's a trimmer? Also also, what do you do when the razor becomes dull?
I'm so confused... I don't know what to order!

That's impressive. How extortionate was the shipping?
Thanks for the help you've already given and any further help you can provide!
(BTW, love your website.)
Re:
Date: 2003-05-11 12:27 am (UTC)The femini has two toothed blades, one which is fixed, and the other moves next to it, creating a 'scissor' effect. It's probably recommended for arms because it's easier to use? The ladyfair, from what I've read, has rotating blades, and they can pinch. (In my experience, not with that specific product).
I also can't really help on the shipping, it's one of the perks of running a site. :)
That said, the shaver people are really nice - drop them an email and they should be able to help you with any queries!
If you do decide to get one, please follow either the link in this thread, or the one from my website - I'll then get commission and that will help JFH to keep running! :)

Maybe. I guess that would make sense. I can't remember -- did you use it for your arms at all? If you did, did you find that it left smooth arms or did it leave stubble?
Also -- what happens when the blades need to be replaced on any of these? Do they need to be taken to a shaving specialist to be sharpened or something?

I run a site as well; does that mean I can get free shipping too? ;>

If I order from that particular site, I will definitely use your link.
Thanks again for all your help!

Date: 2003-05-11 12:29 am (UTC)A friend of mine prefers it to the femini for trimming longer hair, but for me, it'd have to be really good to top the femini's easy handling.

Date: 2003-05-27 09:38 pm (UTC)Yes, I think it was. :>
I used it on my pubes only while I was dancing, and it's a wonder product for allowing me to get a close, smooth shave on a daily basis despite my very sensitive skin.
Could you please help me figure out the whole trimmer thing? I haven't ordered it yet because I haven't been able to figure out the differences between the Ladyfair and the Femini, why I would want one or the other, or why I would want both.
(For the record, although my primary use will be for pubic hair, I would also like to use it for my underarms, arms, and legs if possible.)

Date: 2003-05-27 09:47 pm (UTC)One friend of mine just uses the Ladyfair on her underarms because it trims them closely enough that she doesn't feel she needs the Cleancut. The hair on my arms and legs -- and underarms, really! -- is so fine that the Cleancut isn't necessary or suitable (I'm half Chinese), but I think for most Caucasian women it would work fine.
The only thing is that I think it might take a while to cover as much surface area as your legs have with the Cleancut (for all I know, that might be what the Femini is for). It'd be doable, though. It really all depends on your body. The Cleancut is well worth it even if you only use it on your pubes, though. If you have a male SO, he might like to use it on his facial hair as well, as it's great for avoiding razor burn on the face too.

Date: 2003-05-27 09:49 pm (UTC)Thus saith the 2sensualproducts.com page about the Cleancut. So I guess there's your answer -- the Femini seems to be a shaver (not a trimmer) better adapted for leg/arm use than the Cleancut.
