Long history, because I'm not sure what's going on, so I'm covering all the things that may be involved.

On Monday April 14th, I had a copper IUD placed. So far (as I know) I haven't had any obvious trouble with it. Also, if it means anything, the first time I had sex after the placement Friday the 18th... and again Easter Sunday. That night, I got sick. I wondered just a little if it was IUD related, but was pretty sure I had the flu, not flu-like symptoms. Sore throat, congestion, etc... mostly sick above the neck, and not feeling 'off' at all below the belt. I toughed it out from Easter Sunday to the following Friday, then called my doctor. She prescribed an antibiotic over the phone, which I started immediately.

Two days into the antibiotics, Sunday (27th) my guy and I had sex again, (I was sick, not dead) and during this time, he went down on me. (Which is neither common nor uncommon.) Fast forward a week to this past Friday, the 2nd. I'm feeling 95% better, and am just finishing up my antibiotics. My guy and I get a room for the weekend. Friday night, and he goes down on me again... roughly, very roughly with much much stubble for quite a while, (and the ouchy stubble, the stage after shaving, but before it softens up again--like 4 days growth) before intercourse. During there were definate twinges of hugely questionable comfort (but you can ignore such things in the moment), and afterward a 'Ohhh that might not be good' feeling.

Saturday comes and goes, I get sick in a food-poisoning type of way so nothing happens. I am sore, and tender, but had expected that. Sunday comes, we have sex again even though I am still sore/tender/oww-y (because again, I'm hurt, not dead and didn't think I was _that_ hurt).

So now it's Thursday, the 8th. I'm still sore, and hurt, and have a burning/itching/really dry feeling--that does not get worse when I pee, but does get worse if I move at all. And my kitty's red/slightly inflamed--but not ohmygosh-fire engine-red. I'm trying to figure out what the heck's going on. I would've thought I've been better by now. The only thing that seems to make it feel better is wetness--I've been using a schmear of Vaseline, but I'm not sure if that's safe or might make things worse. (I do figure if I were 'healthy' there, it wouldn't matter, it's used for diaper rash.) I've also thought about using Desitin, but that stuff can burn! (I tried to use it on chapped skin once, thinking a diaper rash ointment would be gentle. HA!)

I'm totally confused.

Do I have the equivilant of a rug burn on my kitty, and nothing else? That's what I was leaning towards, except it's going on a bit long for my mental comfort.

Since he went down on me while I was on antibiotics, or even just because I was on antibiotics, have I got a yeast infection? I've only had one once before, and I didn't even know I had it--I happened to be in for my Pap, and they told me. (Who knew!)

Is it somehow IUD related, since it hasn't been that long... which is the most worrying idea.

I usually take the stance of, 'If you wonder if should go to the doctor, you should' when things are kitten related. However, I don't want to go through the embarassment of telling my doctor all this when she's just going to say my boyfriend burnt me with this chin. Ya know??

the last time this happened to me, i had nothing going on like you described; but i had switched toilet paper brands. i'm a princess, so i only go with the softer name brands, but i always forget that one of them irritates my vulvular skin, making it more pink, dry, and scratchy. painfully so. but not RED. no visible sores. and more bothersome when i'm not peeing than when i am.
anyway, last time, once i switched t.p. away from that one, the annoyance went away.
i'm sure it's lotion, scents, something. i usually check to avoid these things, but sometimes get forgetful and just grab.

now, my skin "down there" is doing it again, and i'm using a different t.p. than what i had been using previously. however, i never remember to write down the name of the one that gives me problems.
but, while i'm a work, were the paper is, well, extremely papery, but the pain and itching decrease until i go home again.

i have no idea if this is what's going on with you, but i thought i'd toss it out there. i'm not even 100% positive this is what's going on this time for myself. last time, i wasn't active and now i can't even call myself monogomous..... i know, i know.

but, to make a long entry short, "have you recently switched toilet papers?"
