I have heard that some people use urine to rinse off their cups when they don't have anything else.
Do you? Why or why not?
If you have amalgam( siliver/mercury) fillings, you might be peeing away the mercury that you swallow. I guess you would also be peeing away some of the mercury in the foods you eat. So it just doesn't seem safe to me to use urine.
Any thoughts?

Date: 2009-04-09 10:37 pm (UTC)Its widely said to be safe to drink urine - I'm not sure why it would be any less safe to get it in your vagina.
I tend to just wipe off my cup if I have nothing else, but I don't really see any issues with using urine. I don't think that mercury or other contaminants are a real concern here.

The only people I know who have those silver coloured fillings are, at the youngest, in their fifties. I'm also pretty sure that if mercury fillings are dangerous, they shouldn't still be in people's mouths.
and to top it all off- burning coal to produce electricity releases a lot of mercury and we still have lead paint in our houses. these are things that i see as more worrying.
