Hey superstars!

For the third time in my life, I've had the massively uncomfortable experience of passing a uterine cast. Pics behind the cut for posterity:

Gory goodness! )

Background details:I recently started back on HBC, but I'd been having spotting. Because I know from experience that when I spot for more than a couple days, it won't stop until I have a proper bleed, I went off the HBC cold turkey, and this happened. I had horrible cramping, thought that I was gonna puke, and went to the bathroom where I pushed this out of my vag. I've had cramping all evening, and I feel a little woozy, but nothing as bad as the cramping immediately preceding the incident!

Hi all! My second post in a month, but I had a very interesting experience and wanted to share/get some advice.
I am on my first pack of Yaz (have been off it in over a year) and had gotten to the end of my active pills. I started having very minimal but very brown (with what looked like very, very small "shreds" of uterine material). I then continued to have very minimal but slowly turning redder bleeding in the first two days of the placebo pills. This morning I got up and removed my tampon, and a long peach-grey sac (that tapered down) seemed to come out right behind it!
I was incredibly distressed as this has never happened to me, and feared I might be having a miscarriage, though the chance of me being pregnant are small. I took a home pregnancy test, which came back negative.
Luckily I found the uterine lining post here, and recognized the photos other users submitted as what I was experiencing-which made me feel a little better. Thank you!
Photos and a Question Below (warning, graphic!) )

Edit: so sorry, my cut was messed up the first time. Hope I didn't bother anyone, and sincerely apologize if I did.

Hi all...
This community has been my go-to source for so many things but I can't seem to find an answer to this question. I found something kind of similar to my issue, but it doesn't seem to be exactly the same.  I tried to explain it over the phone to my doctor's nurse but even she didn't know.

I have been on birth control since I was 14 because I've always had irregular, painful periods. I have NEVER had anything like this happen before. I am always on time, same day in my pill cycle, same duration.

I have been under an immense amount of stress lately and I thought that was the cause of my non-existent period. I was supposed to have started 3-4 days ago but only had some very light spotting and brownish discharge (usually this is towards the tail end of my period).

Today, I had some pretty bad cramping (which usually is the sign of my period starting), but I got so busy with work I started to forget about it. I went about my day as usual.

Got home, changed my tampon, and after wiping there was a fully in tact, piece of tissue on the toilet paper. It was almost like a sac or cylinder type of shape attached to a string. (Wide then tapers).
Literally, it was about 2 inches in length, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch in thickness, and was for sure pink tissue. It was definitely not a blood clot because after having a panic attack, I calmed down and cleaned it up a bit so I could explain to my doctor. It was like a cast of my uterus!

Unfortunately, my doctor is out of the office until Friday so it will have to wait until then and the only person that was available to talk to was the LPN in the office, who was not helpful at all. She made me feel like I was confused and didn't understand what menstruation was. Then she said she'd call me Friday once she can talk to the doctor.

Has this happened to you?? Should I be concerned? Did you talk to your doctor about it and what did they say? I asked the LPN if I should save "the specimen" and she said no, it's probably fine. I told her I would take a picture anyway.

Any help would really help put me at ease. I read on some other forums online that some girl had a uterine polyp that seemed to be described like this?? Another had an eptopic pregnancy?? (I don't think I could have been pregnant for the record. Had sex twice in last month, I take birth control, used condoms every time AND pull out -- my husband and I are as fool proof as possible)

I'm just scared... Help :(

Hi [livejournal.com profile] vaginapagina!

I just wanted to say thank you.

I'm on HBC and I've had a very light period for the past two months. This is my placebo week and my period came early, fast and hard. Along with the heavy bleeding and stronger-than-usual cramping came...the white tissue. I freaked out. After calling my boyfriend into the bathroom while still on the toilet, wrapping the ...thing in cling film and putting it in the fridge for my gyno, and the general hand-wringing of "what if I actually was pregnant?", I turned to the internet. And found you.

You gave me the information and confidence to take the cling film out of the fridge and chuck it in the bin. But not before taking some pictures to add to the archive. Hopefully they'll help someone else not freak out :)

Thanks again!

I'm on Alesse 28, and this is the first month I've been on it. Today was the start of my withdrawal bleed (today being the third day of my placebo week). I had some painful cramping, as is usual for me, and a couple hours after taking my usual dose of Naproxen I was feeling much better. I went to empty my Diva Cup this evening, and found what looked like a deformed tongue at the bottom. The picture doesn't really do it justice/show it clearly, but it's at least the size of a quarter, very thick tissue, and has the texture of a wet hunk of skin. Someone please tell me this is nothing to be alarmed over. I have never had anything like this happen before. I'm definitely calling my doctor in the morning, but until them, I'm sort of freaking out that maybe I just gave birth to an alien embryo or something.

Other points that may be important: I recently had an abnormal pap and am going back in six months to have my doctor look at it again. My HPV was negative, and none of my blood tests showed anything abnormal except that I'm low on vitamin D. I'm sexually active, have only one partner, and I am my boyfriend's only partner. If there's anything else you'd like to know that may help discern what this is, ask away.

Back in May, my GYN put me on Nuva Ring for what she thinks is endometriosis. She told me, because I wasn't using the ring as birth control, I could skip the period free weeks regardless of what the website said. So I had gone from May until a week ago (November 14th) without a period. Last Saturday, two days after I put a new ring in, I randomly got my period. I took the ring out, thinking something was terribly wrong and decided to just bear with the pain and get my period.

I usually only bleed for about four days, but this time it's been a week and doesn't seem to be letting up. AND - last night out of nowhere I started experiencing overwhelmingly bad cramps. I couldn't move, my legs were shaking and I eventually threw up the pain was so terrible. I took three ibuprofin and once the pain subsided, I fell asleep by 12.

Around 2AM, I woke up and felt something absolutely disgusting and slimy coming out of my vagina. I ran to the bathroom, and found this huge nasty unidentifyed object on my pad. No longer in pain, I took a picture of it in case I had to go to the doctor and went back to sleep.

What could this be? The picture is absolutely gross so anyone squeemish is SERIOUSLY advised not to look at it. I'm a fan of medical shows and it grossed me out. * There is absolutely no possibility of pregnancy. *

nsfw - graphic, bloody picture )

What could it be? I am completely baffled and disgusted.

A few folks asked me to post the photos I took of the uterine lining I got out of my diva cup from a period a few months ago.

WARNING: THESE ARE GRAPHIC

These photos show pretty clearly what my body wanted to get rid of. They're bloody, they're not for the squeamish. So, don't click the cut if you don't want to see them!!! Read more... )

This thing hurt like the dickens coming out. I'd never had cramps like this. When it was over and out, I felt millions of times better. I hope I don't get these very often because they suck. My period had been late, and I was having thyroid issues which can make your period heavier. I guess if you have any questions, just ask!

Edited to add: My doc friend checked the photos out, said it's real common. There's no way in heck I could have been pregnant which is why I was freaked out. My fiance has been snipped for about 2 years now, I'm on the ring, infertility runs rampant in my family, and I hadn't had sex in at least a few months. I was still healing from my vestibuletomy. It would have been an act of god if this thing even was a failed embryo.
