So are there any actual health benefits to wearing panties? I haven't worn any in probably more than a week, simply because they gekt icky SO fast and I'm too lazy to do that much laundry. When I think about it, the only use I can think of for underwear is holding pads in place, and insurance against gusts of wind while wearing a skirt.

So am I missing something? Is there any good reason to wear underwear month-round?

I don't think this is true for all women. Some have naturally heavier discharge all the time.

Nope. Could mean a longer fertile period than most, higher estrogen levels, or higher vaginal cell turnover. Discharge is always normal as long as it has no abnormal color or odor.

I wonder which I am? hahaha.

But no, honestly, is there a way to find out that doesn't involve $$$?

There is, from what I understand, a large variation in amounts of discharge. If you are certain that you are STI-free and have no medical symptoms of an infection, then yes IMO there is no cause for alarm.

Agreed.

I got pretty copious amounts of clear discharge throughout my cycle that I recently asked my GP about and he said that so long as it didn't have an unplesant odor, or strange texture (e.g. chunky, or unusually thick) there was nothing to worry about.

Nope. I have what is considered a heavy discharge. It's been that way since I started birth control, and is a side effect of that. I even had one gyno comment on it during a pap smear, "Goodness, that's a lot of discharge. Is that normal for you?" I explained that yes, ever since I started taking The Pill, then the Patch, and now the Nuvaring....it's always been that way.

"Ahhh, that's it then." She said, and went about the exam. So it's totally normal, and not always cause for alarm. It's actually a pretty common side effect to taking HBC.

Nope, there's a large variation in the 'normal' states of women :)
