So, today i got some medication after visiting my doctor for an infection i had in my vagina. I figured it was a yeast infection, and that's what it was. I also got medications for a urinary tract infection (which i did not know i even had)..

I forget the name of the yeast infection medicine. But it comes in a box with one pinkish pill in it. Horrible taste i might add. They gave me 2 of them, so that means 2 pills. I have to take the next one in 5 days (meaning this Monday).

My doctor told me that there was a LITTLE BIT of yeast, but she didn't say there was a lot.

My urinary tract meds tell me to take 2 pills per day for 7 days. 6 more days to go.

Now, my question is this. I'm going to be seeing my boyfriend on June 8th, but we wouldn't be having sex till that next week.

Is it safe to have sex during that time period? Since it would make it approx: 3 weeks after i got off my meds? And note that this will be protected sex.

Answers are appreciated. :)

I'm guessing the little pink pill was Diflucan. It works great for a lot of people, so good luck with that :) It didn't work particularly great for me, and I ended up being mildly allergic to it (if a little bit of throat swelling is still mild, I guess).

At least 7 days after finishing meds is the general recommendation (both for hormonal birth control protection, and for making sure your vagina is fully healed), I think; since June 8th is a couple of weeks in the future, I'd say you should be fine.

You should definitely be fine on all fronts by June 8th. Those reactions don't sound normal, though. What kind of antibiotic are you on for the UTI? Is it possible the smell could be caused by that? I know some antibiotics can give you a weird taste in your mouth, but I've never heard that about Diflucan/Fluconazole. I would think about calling your doctor when you get a chance to ask if your reaction (especially the disorientation) is normal for the medications you're on or if it might be some kind of allergic reaction, which could get worse with time. Maybe I'm just overly cautious, though.

You should be fine, the meds should clear things up and be out of your system.

If you're worried about passing on the yeast, just eat yogurt til then.

It'll really be a matter of any pain and discomfort you feel at that point.
