i have two totally unrelated topics i want to address.

1) i've been doing Weight Watchers for a little over a month now. i've lost about 8 pounds, and that's nothing to sneeze at, really. but 5 of those 8 pounds came off during the placebo week of my birth control pills (LevLite). i'm not really looking for an answer to anything specific... but do you guys think it was just a coincidence? or is this how i should expect to lose weight--once every 4 weeks? haha. i gained about 25 pounds since i started BC (2.5 years ago), so i'm not really questioning the fact that it effects my weight.

2) i've seen commercials for a product called Bikini Zone that claims to remove red bumps from the bikini area. it seems a little too good to be true. i've got some righteous bumps around my bikini area, and i'm looking for a way to get rid of them before i start wearing a bathing suit regularly. is Bikini Zone something to try?

i dont know how well bikini zone works but tend skin (http://www.tendskin.com/) works amazingly but remember to put lotion on afterwards because it dries your skin out something fierce

Bikini zone works wonders for me. Exfoliate with a loofah before shaving, shave with a new, multi-blade razor, and then slap on bikini zone right afterwards. It'll sting just a little bit, but it should take away all the bumps and leave your skin smooth within half an hour or so. Seriously, when I first tried it, I had to come out and rave to my roommate about how amazingly it worked.

was the placebo week of your bc one of the first weeks of doing ww? if it was i would attribute the loss to first few week body adjustments, it it wasn't maybe you're holding onto water weight or something during the active weeks of pills?

ww ftw! i've lost about 12 lbs in 8 weeks so far :) you should expect to lose a lot in the 1st 3 weeks and then .5-2 lbs a week since(ish).

Yay for WW! My junior year of high school my mom's two coworkers joined up, and them, my mom, and myself all started the meal planning stuff. (My mom and myself just never signed up for the meetings, and we bought all the books and planners and things through the coworkers.) My mom was so jealous that I lost 6lbs my first week, when she had lost nothing.

Sadly, I couldn't hang onto the life changes when I went away for college, and three years of college have put the 50lbs I lost back on, and then a little more. And my mom's had health problems that have caused her to regain the weight as well.

And when they say that drinking the required water will make a difference? IT DOES. I didn't start really gaining the weight back until I stopped being able to keep up with the necessary water intake. And if you cheat a little? Just drink more water. It's really one of the major things that makes the difference.

...Of course, that will lead to you needing to pee all the time, but life's like that.

I don't think your weight loss was due to HBC. I've been doing WW for 2 months now and have lost 16 lbs. I've read that losing about 2 lbs. per week is pretty healthy.

Lots of women lose more the week of their period. However, it is also natural to have a really big loss your first week then your body might get upset and you could have a small one your second week. Check out [livejournal.com profile] _weightwatchers for more info.

I'm losing an average of 8 lb a month (not on WW specifically, but on calorie limiting/high fibre, which is quite similar), and it looks something like this:

1st week after period: 4-6 lb loss
2nd week after period: 2 lb loss
3rd week after period: 0-1 lb loss
Week of period: 0 lb loss (sometimes even a gain)

What's going on, as far as I can tell, is that the water retention as I get closer to my period is masking my true weight loss. So, after my period, I lose the water I was retaining and my true weight shows.

So, the weight you may have lost could have been partly water weight, but -- WHO CARES? It's gone! Celebrate. :D

bikini zone did not work for me at all :( so, i had laser hair removal. that's about the only thing that worked for me, since my skin would break out in a fierce disgusting looking rash after shaving.

how did laser beaming work for you? i'm blonde so i have random super blond hairs mixed in with my darker ones and i would be pretty bummed out if i spent 1600 or whatever on getting hair removed to have it not work

i'm still doing the treatments, but so far it's going really well. i just had my third treatment today (i'm doing five total) and the hair that has grown back is extremely fine. i am only having my bikini line done, so it was relatively cheap.

I've never used Bikini Zone, but I really like Over the Bump from Bath & Body Works for preventing bumps and stuff.
