tylenol and the ring

I was reading through the posts about the ring and noticed the two that discussed tylenol and the way that it interacts with the ring.  I recently had to take a lot of tylenol for my shoulder.  While I have not had sex yet, I probably will around Monday.  I took the tylenol starting around Saturday and then until last Monday.  Does that mean that this entire ring is compromised?  Or was it just during the time that I was on the tylenol?  We will be using contraceptive film as backup (we have used this before and its our preferred backup method), but I want to take all precautions.  If it makes a difference, I will be taking the ring out on Jan 14 for my off week.  Any help is appreciated.

*EDIT* - Sorry, I should have originally posted the links to the entries I was referring to.  They are here and here.  They refer to acetamenophen, which is in the pain reliever that I am using.

What were the posts verdicts? I've never heard of an interaction.

I too have never heard of an interaction. Antibiotics may compromise HBC so I was told to wait a week that way anytime you may have ovulated while taking antibiotics the egg would not be viable.

Tylenol does NOT reduce the effectiveness of any contraceptive, including the ring.

I corrected the entry with links back to the original entries. The first one specified Tylenol/Acetaminophen, which is why I was concerned.

I just looked it up in the drug interaction checker linked from the VP sidebar, and this is what it said:
"acetaminophen and ethinyl estradiol-etonogestrel (minor Drug-Drug)
Description:
Oral contraceptives may decrease or delay the effects of acetaminophen by increasing glucuronidation. With the usual therapeutic dosage, concurrent administration probably results in no significant additional risk."

If you read that carefully, you'll see that
a) If there is any interaction between the two, the nature of the interaction is that the ring might interfere with the effectiveness of the acetaminophen, not the other way around.
b) Even if there is an interaction, it is unlikely to be significant.

So you really can take tylenol while using the ring, and it really won't interfere with your protection from pregnancy.
