Hello there. I hope this isn't redundant; I've done a quick search but couldn't see anything similar being asked. I'm wondering where I'd be able to find natural sea sponges - to be used during my period - in the UK. I know it might seem a fairly obvious quesion but I've checked all the usual suspects (Holland & Barret, Superdrug, Boots, a few supermarkets) and all I can find are baby sponges which are synthetic and often dyed, ie. not something I'd be looking forward to introducing to my body! Is there even anything online that's based in the UK? I know a lot of you girls won't be from the UK but if anyone is and has a suggestion I'd be ever so grateful :)

The "Sea Pearls" brand of sea sponge tampons are available in the UK - there's a partial list of suppliers on their website (http://www.seapearls.co.uk/buy.php), and they sell them online from that page too.

I could have sworn I'd seen them in Holland and Barrett, but I've been out of the UK for 6 years so it's equally possible that a) I'm misremembering, or b) they stopped selling them there.

An art supplies store...
No, really. You see, my sister is an artist, and she uses sea sponges to do faux painting in people's houses. You dip the sponge in the paint and dab it against the wall for random patterns.

They're pretty big when she buys them from the art store though so you might have to whiddle it down a bit.
