Hi, my name is Chloe, and I'm currently bleeding from my girlparts.
This isn't something I'd normally mention, but the cramping that's been going along with the bleeding this month is really bad. It's been increasing month by month, and I was wondering- is this a natural thing, does it maybe go in cycles, or is it a possible sign of a problem?

yes
or is it a possible sign of a problem?
yes
Severe cramps can be any or all of these things. If it interferes with your quality of life, talk to your doctor about it- only someone with access to your medical and family history can tell you if it may be a sign of a more serious problem.
In the short term, heat, relaxation techniques like yoga, and OTC pain relievers can help a lot.

Date: 2006-01-21 09:38 am (UTC)increasingly painful cramps may be a sign of bad things to come; so yup, have it checked out if it's getting particularly unbearable.

Also, I find that if I take an ibuprofen at the very, very first cramp-like twinge, I often can avoid having them entirely.
As other posters have said, if the cramps get really bad and are happening every month, going to the doctor would be a good idea. Even if there is nothing wrong (I have horrible cramps sometimes, but not endometriosis or cysts or anything -- just bad luck), a doctor can give you more options for pain management.
Anyway, I hope you're feeling better. :)

Date: 2006-01-22 04:49 am (UTC)Every 3rd cycle would be Bad, by my standards. Every 3rd cycle would be most noticeable & cramp-tastic than the last 2. Never bad enough to skip work or school, though.
They have always been medium or light for me. The 3rd cycle would always be heavier.
