Dear fellow vaginas,

I have been conducting much research on the appropriate contraceptive for my body without screwing around with hormones too much, but I seem to be at a loss. I am in a monogamous relationship and we both hate condoms for several reasons. First, my boyfriend is well-endowed, so even though we are using Magnum XL he still finds it uncomfortable. He is uncut and keeps good hygiene. His head often becomes irritated after using condoms to the point that we have to give it time for him to heal. The magnums do not irritate me, but in the past I have become very irritated by spermicide in regular condoms frequently developing yeast infections from them.

Furthermore, I was on birth control a couple of years ago but I never felt comfortable relying on it since I could not rely on myself to take it at the same exact time each and everyday, and I know its effectiveness is diminished by not abiding by a strict schedule. I also disliked the weight gain and it did not regulate my periods as I had hoped it would. I also seemed to develop headaches but never fully attributed it to the birth control. As for other contraceptives, I disliked the idea of having a device implanted in me (unless I was married), and I do not feel like a cervix barrier or sponge would be reliable birth control without the implementation of spermicide. I have also used Encare, which always caused a YI and burned the head of boyfriend's penis! There seemed to always be so many different contraceptive options, but now I feel severely limited.

SO, my question is - what other contraceptive methods has anyone tried and what were the pros / cons? Does anyone have any personal experiences with Depo Proverathe - the BC shot?

I recently have become increasingly grossed about by the contents of KY and other brands of lubricants. The ingredients are all over the place.

I wondered if anyone had used the organic lube made by YES or..Firefly.

If so..how were they? Also for the YES brand they offer both a oil based lube and water based lube..which is better is the long run? (my significant other and I have a quite lengthy lovelife..as in it takes him forever to reach orgasm, so I need something thats lasts a little while.)

tia!

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend has endometriosis, and looking up the symptoms online I noticed a few things that sound very familiar to me. I'm wondering if I may have it too. I hear it's a relatively common disease, and some of the more noticable symptoms may explain things that have been bothering me for years. Including:

- Abnormal amount of pain during my period in my vagina, belly, back and feet (unable to stand up or even think normally) that started monthly two years before I even started menstruating
- Vomiting, headache and diarrhea during the first days of my period
- Sharp pain during ovulation
- Random pain at completely random times in my vagina, butt and abdomen, and a bit to the side (where I assume my ovaries are)
- Pain during sex (has gotten much better over time, but having sex entirely without some pain or discomfort is a rare thing for me)

I've never noticed anything severe enough to see a doctor about it, because I just assumed I had a really sensitive vagina and womb. The pain and nauseau have decreased considerably since I started on HBC, too. I guess at my age (23) I would have noticed something more than just "pain" if I had endometriosis - my girlfriend is 20 and has had three cysts. But I'm still a bit worried about it.

I'm going back to my own country next month, and since I was planning on getting a fertility test once I'm back home I'm considering asking my doctor about endometriosis as well. Does anyone here have experience getting tested for this? Do my "symptoms" sound like a cause for concern? Is there anything else this could be?

Thanks in advance!

Hopefully the subject line got your attention, and hopefully this question is allowed since it's close my ladybits?

I'm pretty sure I have an anal fissure .. I'm pretty sure I've had one (on and off) for *ehem* two years, but after a bout of stomach problems and excessive bathroom trips, it's either re-opened or ... I don't even know. All I know is that my butt is basically on fire.

I had planned on going to my walk in clinic tomorrow, but a doctor I hate is in and I really don't want to deal with him... so what are some home remedies to relieve the pain/discomfort/willingness to lapse into a coma.

Thank you!

Ok, just got back from childbirth preperation class. Felt like it answered a good abmount of questions, yay. :-)
BUT. ZOMG. The post labor pad? YIKES! Seriously, I thought it was to be placed UNDER you, not in your panties! It doesn't look like it even would fit!
As I'm being disturbed by this pad (seriously, wouldn't it be easier to just wear Depends?), the woman then said that we should all stock up on pads, as we wouldn't be allowed to wear tampons for the whole duration of lochia.
Uhm, wait, what?
I've read in a few other places that tampons are fine, as long as you're comfortable enough to use them!
When I asked for a reason, there was some vague answer as to swelling, discomfort, slippage, and TSS. The only real reason to ban them, then, seems to be the TSS, and I've always been under the impression that TSS occurs from using tampons too heavy for your flow. Seeing as how lochia is a ZOMG tsunami of blood, I really have a hard time seeing as how that would be possible.
Has anyone else ever heard of this ban on the post partum use of tampons?
I really dislike pads, and would MUCH rather use tampons if I can. The reasons given for not using them seemed like things one should consider, not reasons to outright ban them. :-/
