 Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of years ago after having been on the pill forever, and I stopped having periods on my own. An endocrinologist prescribed me progesterone pills in order to induce bleeding every 3 or 4 months. I took the progesterone pills last September, had a period, and then took them again at the end of January which again induced another period.

About 2 weeks ago, I started getting some symptoms (for lack of a better term) that closely resembled signs of ovulation that I've read about. I had some light brown spotting for about 2 or 3 days, along with an abundant amount of clear but very wet discharge (I thought I had peed myself when I first felt it!). My sex drive went through the roof, and I had some pain in one of my breasts as well. At the time, I thought I could possibly be ovulating, but I was on the pill for so long before that I really don't know what my own personal ovulation signs are.

Last night, I got my period on my own for the first time in ages. I was pretty excited to see it (sounds weird, but yea!), and I got to thinking if maybe I really did ovulate a couple of weeks ago. I know that women with PCOS can have anovulatory cycles, but has anyone had a similar experience? Is there something about taking progesterone pills that can jumpstart ovulation later on?

Thanks for any feedback!

Both [livejournal.com profile] amipregnant and [livejournal.com profile] am_i_pregnant tend to be slow and many posts get few or no comments, so although I have a post waiting in the queue for [livejournal.com profile] amipregnant (hasn't been approved now about 12 hours after submitting), I am going to post here as well.

I have a cycle of between 23 days and 28 days. It varies from month to month, but most of the time it is 26 days. I am not on the birth control pill. My last period started on 18 or 19 February. I had spotting on 18 February and regular bleeding on 19 February, so I don't know which day counts as day 1. I had unprotected sex on 23 February and 26 February. The man I had sex with ejaculated inside of me on both days.

Am I likely to become pregnant? With the variable cycle and the uncertainty of which day counts as day 1, I am not sure if both instances of sex happened on safe days. How soon will I be able to get a reliable result from a home pregnancy test?

Thank you.

this all started back in january. i was diagnosed with genital herpes in mid january. my initial outbreak was horrible and my sores were lingering around the entire time of about jan 12-31. the sores went away and so did the painful urination; everything was clear and nothing hurt as of around feb 4th. everything was fine and dandy, but my boyfriend and i were still waiting to have sex. a couple days after that, i noticed these little bumps in the same spot where the sores were. they are still there as of may 1st. they have not gone away, changed, nothing! they're not fluid filled and they don't itch, they really just are there. now everything i've seen is that you know when sores show up, and you are completely aware of them through the entire process of them popping, scabbing over, and going away. i took valtrex through my first outbreak and am now taking it as an suppressive therapy. i am wondering if anyone has any kind of experience with this. my poor boyfriend and i are both dying and we have no idea what to do about these. we're still having some fun private time, but i miss being with him like that.
again, these bumps are just there. they don't hurt. they aren't red, fluid filled. they are about as close to being flesh colored without actually being flesh colored.
i keep meaning to call the doctor to just ask about these, but i'm at school and work during their hours. if anyone thinks this sounds familiar or i should or shouldn't have to worry, any help would be greatly appreciated. i'm also hpv positive (i know these aren't warts) so if that means anything at all, please help a sista out.

Question: How many of you have vaginal orgasms from intercourse?

I've been wondering how prevalent orgasms during intercourse are. I've always thought vaginal orgasms weren't very common, that women mainly orgasm from clitoral stimulation. If I orgasm, either during PIV, oral, or masturbation, it is because there is some clitoral stimulation.

I haven't seen a post totally dedicated to this, but I've seen posts here and there that dealt with this issue. Too often women are expected to be nice. We're taught never to be rude. We're never to hurt anyone's feelings. There are evil people out there who know this about women and will prey on these things that we've been taught. There were a few ladies who were in some frightening situations because of being afraid of being rude or hurting somebody's feelings. It can harm us emotionally, physically or can even get us killed.

Those who grew up with abuse really take that to heart. The abusers' word is gospel when we were growing up and we were constantly berated and talked out of listening to that little feeling/voice that tells us "Something isn't right here" or "DANGER! DANGER!"

If you would please, to help those of us who are learning to take back our power and not let others fuck with our reality, how do you take back that power? How do you stand up for yourself and fight back? Examples would be helpful and we can all learn. Are there any books that are good for this?

Hello vaginapagina community!

If this question is silly I apologize, but I'd still love to be pointed in the right direction.

I know about birth control stacking, but about 3 months ago I got it in my head to try something different. The boy was coming the weekend I should have gotten my period so I decided to move things around a few days. I attempted to move my period by 3 days. Silly? Yes. Well, since then my period has been VERY light and only lasted about 3 days. I have 4 placebo pills (Tuesday thru Friday) and now I don't get my period until Thursday or Friday. I never thought I'd say this as a female, but I'm worried I'm not bleeding enough. It's just a tad bit heavier than spotting for a few days. Do I move my period back to what it was before? Have I confused my body.

Background: I'm on LoEstrin 24 Fe and have been for over 2 years. Aside from my little date switcharoo I haven't missed a pill in over 4 months.
