I looked through the tags and couldn't really find anything of this nature. Sorry fi this has been posted before, maybe I'm just not looking well enough.

What texture is the inside of your vagina and is there anything that causes a specific texture? I was reading posts over at one of the men's health communities and they were discussing how the inside of a woman feels. Basically all the commenters said that women's "canals"(?) feel different and ranged from being slick and smooth to having the same texture as chickenskin testicles. This was interesting to me as the one time I had intense sexual contact with a woman, her insides were smooth and muscular. This whole discussion just made me feel really self-conscious, because the inside of mine is more like chewed-up flesh. Sorry if this is offensive, that's just how it feels. The texture makes me a little squicked-out about penetrative masturbating (which sucks) and now I'm worried that my previous partners may have not liked it (it doesn't really matter what they think, but I'd hope that it's not uncomfortable). Does anyone know what causes this? I know everyone is different, but I have had quite a lot of contact with rather rough sex and partners with carelessly long fingernails. I also have a pretty irregular cycle (as in I still ovulate, but skip MONTHS of actual menstrual fluid), had BV a couple of times as well as a yeast infection, if that's relevant. I was thinking it might also be due to minor genital abnormalities I have due to AIS.

Sorry if that question is vague and anatomically ignorant, but I think I worded it as best I could.

EDIT:Thank you ladies sooo much for easing my insecurity! I ♥ VP!

I had sex yesterday, for the first time in about a month, with a new friend of mine. It wasn't the first time I had orgasmed in a month, nor the first time I had orgasmed with "assistance" from another person in a month... But... It was the first time in a WHILE that I had CRIED upon orgasm. It has only happened just a few times, and the last time could be anywhere from a year ago to three years ago (my memory is a little fuzzy.)

I just couldn't help it, like as soon as I had an orgasm, I just broke down into tears - why is this happening to me??

Hi there superstars! For the past couple months, I've been bleeding for two weeks! Hurrah! I am currently on birth control (Loestrin 24 Fe, generic is Microgestin or Junel, etc.) and I take my pills on time every day. I have a theory that my cycle is either trying to sync up with my friend's (whose period is a week before mine) or the hormone amount in the Loestrin simply isn't enough to cover what I need.

I'm on the Loestrin because it was helpful for my cramps (which are... horrible.) but it's honestly not worth it if I'm going to bleed for half the month (which makes it really sad when I see my boyfriend, because he lives two hours away and we rarely see each other, and it sucks to be bleeding/can't have sex more than half the time I see him because he doesn't like period sex!)

I was wondering if you ladies had any suggestions of a type to be on? I'm already going in for a consultation as soon as the OB/GYN office calls me back to set up an appt, but I was wondering about your opinions.

For reference, I've also been on Yaz and OTC-lo. The monophasic pill seems to help my cramps more than the triphasic though.

Has anyone here successfully used black cohosh to bring on a late period and/or induce miscarriage? I have the capsules (540 mg), but I've heard both 2 capsules every 2 hours and 2 every 4 hours, and I'd like to keep side effects to a minimum, so any advice would be super helpful.

P.S. I've also been taking vitamin C (6,000 mg/daily) for the past two days--supposedly they're complimentary emmenagogues.

Thought some of you might find this interesting. From ABC News: Teen Girl With No Vagina Pregnant from Sperm Survival from Oral Sex.

Before you freak out, NO, you still cannot get pregnant from oral sex under any but the MOST extreme and unusual circumstances. This girl's circumstances? Cut for mention of violence. )

Just an amazing confluence of events that makes you sit back and marvel at the human body.

hey everyone, i've been on a new pill, levora, for a month now, and this is my first withdrawl bleed. on my previous pill, a generic seasonique, i stacked two packs (6 months in total) and i bled for about 3 months straight due to a built up uterine lining due to the hormones. i took my first placebo on saturday and i haven't gotten my period yet, and i can't recall when i used to get my periods, because i was on seasoniqe for so long. so when should i worry? also, is there any telling if a new pack will stop my cycle? i've always wondered if the start of a new pack should equal the stop of my period. thanks :)):):)

Obviously due to the source I can't be absolutely sure about the reliability, but it's definitely interesting.

If You Were On Hormones...
... and are now worried about breast cancer, this new report should be reassuring. Once you stop taking the estrogen-progestin drugs, your risk of the disease drops 28 percent in the first year, an analysis from the Women's Health Initiative found. Even better, after just two years off the hormones, your chances of breast cancer go back to "normal" - or what they would have been if you'd never taken the drugs.

There was nothing more than that, but I found it interesting.

I do dislike the tone in the article, although I can't quite spot why...

Also I thought estrogen was the one that raised the risk of breast cancer, and progestin didn't?

Hello Superstars,
I've been suffering from a yeast infection, so I decided to go to the doctor and get some medicine. I knew they would probably give me Diflucan, so I used  a drug interaction checker to see if there would be any issues between my birth control pill(Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo) and Diflucan. It came back saying there was a moderate interaction for the both estradiol and norgestimate and that there could be an increased risk for unintended pregnancy. So I brought a print-out of the interactions to the doctor, she read it and then assured me I'd have no interaction. Feeling a little uneasy just accepting that, I talked to the pharmacist and she assured me of the same thing. So do I trust them? I took the Diflucan on Monday and at that point I only had 3 active pills left in my pack, so I feel like even if it did negate my birth control, I probably wouldn't ovulate anyway...

So, will I be safe using birth control as my only birth control method until I get my period and then start a new pill pack?

Also,
Would it be a good idea to use an acidophilus capsule as a vaginal insert to speed up the process?

Thanks in advance!

Well, a question I couldn't find a specific answer to online;

I've been taking microgynon for 4 years now, with pillfree week every 3rd month only(my doctor said it was okay because of my major menstrual cramps. However thanks to my chiropractor my menstrual cramps are gone! <3 And I have a non-active sex life for the moment, yay /sarcasm)

Now this is my first period in 4 years where I have been pill-free for a whole month and HOLY GOD I'M BLEEDING TO DEATH? I cannot remember having such heavy bleeding before. I'm wondering why I haven't fainted from blood loss yet (though I don't feel dizzy or anything.)

It's so much that it basically pools up my pad before it gets time to sink into the cotton!

So is this normal? I mean as, is it normal for your first (second and third?) periods to be heavy like woah because you've quit birth control? I sure hope so, or I'm going back to birth control.

Okay, so I wanted to consult you wonderful ladies tonight because of something that has been bothering me for the past few days.

Yesterday, I spoke to a guy who I was having oral sex / sexual intercourse with in the summer time. We stopped seeing each other in August. He said that he had "a serious question for me" and then went on to explain that he has had two strange outbreaks around his genital region. Apparently, he broke out with "several puss-filled, skin coloured lumps" around his genitals but not directly on his penis. The lumps appeared within a matter of hours and disappeared overnight. The outbreaks happened twice, about 5 weeks apart, both times disappearing by the morning. I of course told him to go right to the doctor to get a full STI test, but decided I would discuss it with him a little further to try to rule out some possibilities.

I have been tested for bacterial STI's and am not infected with Chlamidya or Gonorrhea, however I have not been tested yet for HSV-2 though I have not had an outbreak before. Basically, this guy is convinced that what he's got is HSV-2 and that I must have passed it on to him, because he has only had one other partner who he used a condom with and was a virgin. Assuming that the strange outbreaks even ARE genital herpes, I told him that there is always the possibility that he could have contracted it from oral sex with someone who had a cold sore. He is basically insistant that based on my sexual history, that it must have been me who passed it on to him. We are both getting tested for the virus this week and will update each other, but for now I have some general questions that I would like to ask in order to relieve some of the paranoia that I am having.

1) What is the likelihood of passing HSV-2 to a person through viral shedding during condomless sex when there has never been an outbreak?

2) Does what I described above even sound like it could be HSV-2? I was under the impression that they were more in the form of open sores rather than skin-coloured, enclosed, puss-filled lumps that flare up and disappear within hours.

3) If I get tested for HSV-2 and come back positive, how can I be sure that it wasn't recently contracted from a new partner? He is being rather annoying about it and I get the feeling that he will respond angrily if I tell him that I came back positive - even if there is no way to prove that I had the virus while I was sleeping with him, or that he got it from me and not someone else. What would be the best way to talk to him about it where I can defend myself against rash assumptions while still accepting the chance that I gave him the virus? I don't want to take all of the blame when 1) There's no definitive proof and 2) Our decision not to use condoms was entirely mutual. Any suggestions??

Thanks everyone for your help...I am just feeling super paranoid and I am a little annoyed that he is being so accusing about all of this when neither of us even have any results yet.
