I checked the memories and couldn't find anything particularly helpful.

Every time I have sex or get penetrated in any way, I start to produce really thick discharge that is similar to the kind I've gotten when I had a yeast infection. It's thick, white, and cottage cheese-like, and it happens nearly every time I get penetrated. It's really a mood killer, because when my boyfriend pulls out, he notices it, and it's not the sexiest thing in the world. It doesn't matter how turned on I am, if I'm using lube or condoms, or anything. I was sexually abused as a child and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, because I also experience an intolerable pain during penetration, even if it's something as small as a pinky finger. I have never been able to "successfully" have sex without having to stop due to pain or discharge, and it has really taken a toll on my self-esteem.

Has anyone here experienced this before? Any ideas? I can't get into the gyno for a few weeks, but I just thought I would ask you guys for advice first. Thanks in advanced!

In a nutshell, my period has been here way too long. I'm on Yaz and have been on it for several months now. I skip placebos and only get my period once every three months. I was a little over a month over on one of my planned cycles when I accidently fell asleep and took my pill a few hours late. I got my period while having sex a week later (December 10) and have been spotting lightly ever since. The bleeding (and I wouldn't even call it bleeding since it's just brown discharge almost all of the time) is exacerbated when I have sex and stopped after two days of no coitus, only to appear again when we had sex today. I'm assuming that if I lay off for a week it'll disappear entirely until next time.

My question is, when would it be possible for me to take a home pregnancy test? When I expect my natural period next (in 28 days) or can I take it now? Also, how likely is it that I can even get pregnant, since I've been actively taking my pill on time every day? My partner and I were each others' firsts; the pill is the only form of birth control we use and he does ejaculate inside me, so the possibility is there.

When I started being sexually active with my current SO, we just did oral with me on the receiving end and lots and lots of fingering and one night in the shower I noticed I had a painful lump on the inside of one of my vaginal lips, like my lubrication was too much and was irritating it or my SO was too rough or something. I had a look at it with a mirror and could only feel the lump and not see anything, like maybe it was just an irritated gland of some sort on the inside of the labia. It went away within a few hours and hasn't been back since. I was thinking of asking my doctor about it when I go to my next appointment, but I don't want to waste her time if it was only around for a few hours, you know?! Am I wrong in maybe assuming it was just some sort of irritation from all the fingering and oral I'd been getting? I'm kind of worried and kind of not, just because the lump went away within a few hours. And my SO smokes heavily if that matters. The lump didn't itch, wasn't large and looked to myself and my SO to be one of the lumps that are regularly on the inside of the inner labia, like "the normal chicken skin" as he called it, but just irritated.

Any help to put me at ease would be helpful!

EDIT: I'm thinking that the first three comments are right, and that I'm not dealing with an STD because the bump went away in a matter of hours. I hope I'm correct because I can't get in to ask my doctor about it for awhile. :(

This might seem like a really weird question, but ff someone has oral herpes... can it be transferred to another person if you (the person who doesn't have oral herpes) give them oral?

I am trying Nuvaring and I have morning sickness and a general achyness in my lower stomach/girly parts. I took it out and within the hour I felt better.
Should I try to push through it? Try to deal and see if it gets better?
What can I do about the morning sickness other than keep saltines next to the bed?
Did you deal with this if you used the ring?

I'm in a long-distance relationship and I've been taking hormonal birth control for the past 3 months. I'm about to leave him for 4 months, would it be OK if I stopped taking birth control and started taking it again in May? And continued to cycle like that? Is this bad for my body?

So, I've had a vagina about three months now, and it's pretty great. There's something really bothering me though. When I pee, for whatever reason I can't seem to wipe all the pee that gets on me. Oftentimes I spray all over the place haphazard like which is both annoying and kind of funny, and I have no problem wiping the pee off my butt and any outer areas. But as far as inside the labia, I can never seem to get it all, and if I try, I end up with bits of TP in there, which can't be good.

Aftercare from this surgery involves quite a bit of dilation, and therefore bleeding, as well as a fair amount of discharge due to it being a healing wound. So they gave me a bunch of pads, and I've been wearing them ever since. Bleeding from dilation has slowed up quite a bit so I don't really need the pads for that anymore, but I've kept wearing them. I hate having to wear pads all the time, but if I don't, I end up with pee on my underwear, no matter how well I feel I've wiped. It smells bad, and I feel gross. Also I hate my damnable vagina-diapers, for they are big and diaper-y.

So, VP-ers, is this at all normal? If so, WTF am I supposed to do? I never got any training on this kind of thing as a kid, so, ya know... HALP?

I just started my period today. I was planning on being a "Sunday Start" pill taker and I wanted to start THIS Sunday. Should I wait until my period is over or go ahead and start tomorrow? I read the instructions in my pill pack but can't find anything useful. I recall asking my gynecologist this question and I think she said it was alright to start on any Sunday after you've already started your period for that month, but I wanted to ask you all to double check.

Thanks VP!

I had a question for you ladies. I went through a very painful break-up a couple weeks ago. It was absolutely devestating to me. It was completely unexpected, out of the blue and it hit me very hard. I took to my bed for several days afterwards and didn't leave the house for about a week.

The thing about me is I'm 5'9'' and about 120 pounds normally. When I'm sad, though-- I can't eat. Some people turn to food when they are depressed, I turn away from it.

In the week following the break-up I lost ten pounds. And in the couple days immediately after it, I started bleeding. Almost like the bleeding you do in the last two days of your period, brownish and not huge in quantity. It lasted for about a week and a half before my actual period. I'm just getting over that now.

I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else. I don't know if it was the shock that made me bleed or the rapid weight loss, but I know it's not healthy. I am on birth control but this has never happened to me before (and I've been taking it for about three years now)...

This has been really hard. My first real heartbreak. Any help would be great.
-Thanks

hey guys i've been having a few problems that i hope i can get some advice about here.

i've tried searching the vulvapedia and google for about an hour now and i'm having a bit of trouble finding what i'm looking for.

for the past few months i've had my vaginal tissue (on and inside my labia and inside my actual vaginal canal) sloughing off in large amounts. when i wipe or go to the bathroom chunks of tissue will be left on the tissue. it is not liquid or viscous but just tissue. sometimes i do have quite a bit of discharge as well but it's usually just the tissue. i've been tested by STIs by my gynecologist and he has examined me about three times for this problem but everytime he says that there isn't anything wrong with me. the first time i went in with this problem he prescribed an antifungal cream. that didn't work. so now he thinks that my problem is caused by irritation.

my question is, do you think it's possible that i just have a really strong fungal infection and THAT'S why it didn't go away? i had a really bad fungal infection on my feet that STILL hasn't gone away after trying multiple medications. could i have spread this infection to my vagina?

does anyone have a clue as to what this problem might be caused by or how i can get rid of it?

it gets much worse after i have sex but was even around when i didn't have sex for a month. this leads me to believe it isn't just about the irritation.

my second problem is that i had quite a bit of rough sex the other night and it seems as though the skin between my anus and vagina has a tear in it. would it be foolish of me to attempt having more sex in the near future?

thanks.
