The bf and I just had sex with me laying on his bed and him standing, and (although I normally like it when he goes really deep) it hurt really bad. I know your cervix can be in different places at various times in your cycle, but given that I'm on HBC, I'd think that the hormones there would override anything else. However, I am starting my placebo pills tomorrow, so I'm definitely close to getting my "period". Maybe it was just the positioning of everything that made it hurt? We'd never tried this position before...
Thanks! :)

Hi again!
I know I JUST posted, but my questions are so different I wanted to make sure they could be answered separately. I'm looking into getting a menstrual cup. Any recommendations (positive or otherwise)? I'm on HBC, as mentioned in the previous post, so my periods aren't too heavy at all, but I really like the idea of not using tampons anymore. I'm a tampon user (exclusively) while on periods, so I'm definitely comfortable with the idea of sticking something up there.
Thanks!

I posted a few weeks ago about having a YI. Also, I think I was allergic to condoms that was used.

I used the treatment, cleared it up, got my period, and I thought it came back. I mean, not sore, just a lot of 'slimy' discharge. (kinda very light yellowish green, sometimes murky white, and tons of it). I had sex once, about a week ago, and it hurt and was really hard to get his penis inside. I had sex this morning, and it wasn't as bad, and it actually felt good after a moment of penetration.

Just asking if this is just the healing of the YI still, after about 2 weeks from my period, or should I be concerned about the soreness and discharge? Well, the discharge has settled down, actually, since this morning after we had sex. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, LOL.

I have looked in the tags and haven't found anything quite like the question I have, so here goes-

I am, strictly, a pad user. I hate them (sweaty, odorous ew), but it has always been impossible for me to get a tampon in.
I am not even close to virgin status, either. When I try to put tampons in I can never seem to get them in far enough, and the one time I got one in far enough it felt like it hit my cervix (my flow wasn't very heavy, and it had this scratchy feeling when it hit it oooouuuchh!) I finally gave up and have been using pads ever since.

My first question is- If I can't even get a tampon inside of me, how will I be able to get the menstrual cup up there?

Next, I have a super sensitive cervix- will the cup rub on my cervix or anything, because even the thought is nauseating me. If I won't be able to feel it touching my cervix, I will be okay, but if it's constantly going to rub on the edges, I'll just stick to pads (probably literally, lol. ew.sry.gross.)

thanks in advance!

Plan B?

So the other night i had sex and the condom ended up falling off. I noticed half way and stopped when i did so he didn't actually finish inside me. However, i don't know how far into the sex it fell off. Now i'm not on any other type of birth control so i'm wondering if i should consider using plan b? I am just in my post menstrual period so i know i am bordering my unsafe days, which is what worries me a little. Should i consider using plan B?

thank you.
x posted to birth control.

My boyfriend recently bought me some sex toys I'd been wanting and I thought since we're in an LDR, it would be nice to get him something. He's so used to using his hand that I'm not sure a male sex toy would give him that much pleasure. He's intrigued by prostate stimulation/massage as well. I've seen pocket pussies and masturbators online, but none of what I've seen is body safe, silicone or phthalate free.
Things like the Aneros Progasm don't look very friendly to use by himself. They look like they'd need partner assistance. I was looking at the Fleshlight, but it looks rather bulky to grab on to. And I was quite intrigued by Babeland's Maverick, but since he's chemically sensitive to a point and that's made out of Elastomer, I'm assuming it'll stink to high heaven right out of the packaging.
Any help would be appreciated because I'm getting a bit frustrated!

Thanks in advance!

Update!

For those of you that read my freaked out post last night (http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/14792664.html), I just wanted to update you. I checked myself again when I got home at about 1am, and the bump was gone! Just kidding, it's still there, just not as close to my vagina as I thought it had been. It's still only one, doesn't hurt or itch, no burning when I pee, and it looks like a tiny version of the Molluscus (sp?) bump that I have near my bikini area on one thigh, so I'm pretty sure that's what it is, or it could just be irritation or a pimple!

Any last opinions?

Is that confirmation that it was just irritation?

Hello everyone, I'm new to LJ and this wonderful community. I was hoping to get some advice/answers because I am clueless, embarassed and in the most discomfort I've ever been in. I had an odor and a white discharge that would show up on my panties for a while..the odor was fishy, but also strong and unpleasant smelling. I was reccommended to try apple cider vinegar on a tampon, probably not the smartest idea but I did it. I should also note that I had unprotected sex last weekend. Once again, not a smart choice but things happen. The other day I woke up with the most intense itching inside my vagina. Every bit of it is itchy..clitoris, the opening, EVERYTHING (The only part that doesn't itch terribly is the external where I shave..surprisingly). It burns terribly, has the most terrible odor..once again extremely fishy, there is a discharge, and is bright red. There is also a little blood that I'll see on toilet paper. When I first saw the blood I thought I was starting my period and tried to use a tampon but I am so swollen and inflamed that I couldn't even get it half way in. I've never experienced anything like this in my entire life, I basically cried myself to sleep last night because I couldn't take the itching anymore. I feel so disgusting. I don't know if anyone has experienced anything like this, could it be an STD? Or, some other kind of infection like BV? I cannot get to a doctor until at least Tuesday thanks to Finals. Please help. :(

How effective is doubling up with using BCP (perfect use, I take it on the dot at 5pm everyday) and condoms every time??  I used to use spermicidal gel on top of these two but using it two or three days in a row really began to irritate that area and even burned overnight so we stopped using that, but that makes me nervous not using three forms at once.  How effective are just those two forms together then?

i think these get posted frequently but i'm in one of those panic modes.

a little info:
ive been taking the BC kariva faithfully since june (never missed a pill!) but june was the first time i had ever been put on birth control.
this week i was on my period so just taking the placebo pills

last night while visiting my boyfriend some things happened. he told me to close my eyes and he'd 'tease' me.
i assumed teasing meant something besides him going inside me but apparently i was wrong.

long story short, he was inside me for at most 10 or 15seconds before i started freaking out that he wasnt wearing a condom.

i guess since this is the first time ive been on birth control i'm still a little confused about the chances of becoming pregnant during a period, etc.

should i consider ec?
i'm stuck on my campus so i would probably need to contact planned parenthood.

tia.
and i apologize for being kind of uneducated about bc  =/

Hello Everyone!

I'm a Speech-Pathology Major about to graduate with my Bachelors Degree (5 days!) and I discovered an interesting Vagina-related fact in one of my text books that prompted me to google more about it.

Apparently, if you speak loudly or harshly (or do any other vocally abuse behaviors) during the few days before the start of your period, as well as at the beginning of your period, it can contribute to a voice disorder because the increased estrogen levels can make your vocal folds swell.

Weird, huh?

((Mods, if this isn't appropriate, please delete it.  I just thought it was nifty.))

Hello all! I hope everyone is doing well. Just a couple questions of concern.

1) Can eating seafood such as crab and shrimp give you an odd vaginal smell? I ate some a few hours ago, and now I notice I smell a bit...fishy? down there? I didn't smell like this earlier, only after I ate the crab and shrimp, so I was wondering if that could cause it.

2) I'm planning on mentioning this to my gyno when I see her in a few weeks, but I wanted to poke around here first. Sometimes, and this doesn't happen often, I get some clumpy stuff in my urine. If it occurs, it only happens when I first pee in the morning. I know when it happens, cause I can feel it come out of me when I'm peeing. It usually happens at the very end of urination. I've inspected it and touched it, and it has the same consistency of snot. Its usually accompanied by some stringy foamy stuff too. No other symptoms, no weird discharge, no pain or burning or anything. I was just wondering what it might be? And again, it only happens every once in a while, its not an every day occurrence.

Thank you all so much!!

Do you get post menstrual syndrome as opposed to premenstrual syndrome? I always get food cravings and sore boobs and bloat the week after my period starts. I'm on the pill as well. Maybe its the sudden drop and rise in hormones.
[identity profile] scorp-goddess.livejournal.com
I looked over the memories but didn't find anything quite like this.
I seem to get a yeast infection every month during my period. It's irritating, but I always figured it was from using tampons. Well today I got the usual yeastie, but I didn't start my period until tonight, so it cant have been the tampons. I dont do anything out of the ordinary around period time, the only thing I can think of is maybe its hormonal. Is it possible for hormones to give you yeast infections once a month? if not, what else could it be?
thanks!

For the past several months, I've noticed that during the first few days of my period, the inside of my vagina is noticeably swollen. I use a Lunette cup, and my first few days are usually very heavy and painful. When I insert or remove my cup, it's very difficult and I can feel that the walls of my vagina are puffy and swollen nearly shut. About 4 days in, it starts to get better and it's much easier to insert and remove my cup. The swelling isn't painful, but it's a little alarming to feel such a difference in my anatomy.

I'm getting a laparoscopy on December 16th for suspected endometriosis. Do you think this could be related? Does anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance.
[identity profile] cage-this.livejournal.com
This isn't all vagina-related, or really anything-specific-related. I guess I'm just looking for some people to talk to and I don't know where else to go. I'll delete it if it isn't allowed.

about 2 months ago, piv sex started to hurt. initial insertion is very difficult for me, as are the first few thrusts. after that, it fades away for the most part, most of the time.

the obvious answer, i know, is to lube it all up. been there, done that. ive tried every lube out there, from plain old spit to those fancy 30 dollars for 4 ounces types. no amount of any type of lube helps.
adding to the complication is that im really not sure vaginal dryness is the problem. i am, in general, a damp girl - i have to wear a (cloth) pantyliner each day. when i am in a state of arousal, i dont have a hard time producing buckets of lubrication. so... what gives?!
my second theory was a long-term asymptomatic yeast or bacterial infection, but ive had both a zillion times, always with symptoms. i feel its unlikely to suddenly start having asymptomatic infections, even if it is possible.

i suspect the culprit is my mirena iud, which i had inserted this past august. it makes sense, with the timing of the insertion and onset of the problem being so close together. so how to i solve this problem if lube doesnt seem to help and i wont give up my iud?

me: 20 yr old female, in a mono relationship with my beloved partner for two years. he definitely knows what buttons to push to get me going, so lack of arousal isnt the problem. yet, dryness doesnt seem to be it either.

EDIT: i had my mirena inserted after being on the ortho evra patch for 4 years.

whats a girl to do????

Orgasms?

Will you know for sure when you orgasm? Is it possible to just...not notice it?

If you slept with someone who was inexperienced and it wasn't too good, do you think you'd be up for helping them become a better lover? Or do you think you'd just stop having sex?

If it matters, the person in question is a friend, not a significant other.
