Antibiotics

So, I got boric acid for my bv, but I got it online and it turned out to be the kind used to kill ants. (Yeeaaah, NOT putting that in my vajajay!) I also devoloped a UTI, so I sucked it up and got a prescription for antibiotics. I just have a couple questions, because I'm on the pill and don't want to get preggers:

It's been about a month and a half since I had a period on the pill. (I'm on the 3 month kind.) Should I take a week off and have my 'period?' Would it be like a normal period, where I just start taking my pills afterwards and be protected throughout it all, or should I act like I'm starting the pill fresh and wait a week after restarting it to have sex?

Does anyone know how long antibiotics stay in your system after taking them?

I got the prescription over the phone, and the doctor didn't say how long to keep taking the antibiotics. Does anyone know the recommended time to get rid of a UTI?

TIA!!!!! I'm so nervous, because I'm crazy paranoid about babies, and also I'm allergic to 2 types of antibiotics, and I'm afraid I'll be allergic to this stuff too. Gah. Wish me luck. Thanks for any answers you can give. <3 <3

Sorry to post again, but I'm following up on this post from Saturday.

The bump has developed some friends, and they hurt. I've basically just been laying in bed for the past two days trying not to move. I've just accepted the fact that I'm infected with herpes, and at this point I really just want to get it diagnosed and get whatever medication to help it.

I've tried to call and make an appointment with the local planned parenthood but it was closed yesterday because it was sunday and it's closed today since it's labor day. So I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what I can do until I actually get medical help. I'm just really uncomfortable and I would like to be able to go out and try to enjoy the start of college.

I was also wondering if anybody has gone to Planned Parenthood to get tested and would be willing to share their experience so I can have some idea of what to expect when I go.

Cut.

To cut a long story short, I have a cut on my vagina, fairly deep inside (but visible).

I've been keeping it as clean as possible and applying Decocort. Other than it hurting like holy hell when I pee, I just want to know what precautions I should take with an open wound down there. Obviously I will avoid sex, but what signs of infection should I look out for? And what can I do to speed up the healing process?

Thanks.

Hey everyone,

I've been suffering from an evil recurring yeast infection for a very long time. I know from this community and a friend that boric acid is very effective at treating such things, I know I need the 2% concentration stuff and I know how to use it. However, no one in this stupid country will sell it to me. Yesterday I went to three chain store/supermarket pharmacies, one independent pharmacy and one healthfood shop. The staff in 2 of the shops had never even heard of boric acid, one person didn't realise it could be used to kill anything except bugs, and one evil old lady behind a counter glared daggers at me as soon as I used the phrase "yeast infection." Very professional. Finally I spoke to a nice girl in the healthfood shop who said that nowhere in the UK sells boric acid over the counter anymore as it's considered a poisonous substance and the government/NHS/whoever don't trust people to use it safely. She suggested looking online, which so far has also been fruitless. This whole situation is further complicated by the fact that I don't have a credit card, only a maestro debit card which can't be used on most american websites. Help?

I wasn't really sure where else to ask this, but does anyone have any experience getting sexy stains out of car upholstery?

I'm curious to know if anyone has ever had an allergic reaction to their birth control. When my sister got the shot a couple years ago, she started to go into anaphylactic shock on the way home and had to be rushed back to get adrenaline. They never decided what it was she was allergic to in the shot, I don't think. Anyone else have similar happen? (she'll be be going back on birth control one day soon here, which made me wonder about this)

So my roommate told me about this birth control "shot". For some reason I thought they didn't do this anymore, but I guess I was thinking about Norplant (I think?).
Anyways, how much does this cost for one three-month treatment? I'm finding info all over the board. Also, is this provided by planned parenthood?

Hey! I had a question concerning my birth control and lighter periods. I've been taking Yaz for over a year now, and so far it has worked out well for me. I usually (and by usually I mean pretty much always) start my period around Monday or Tuesday and am all cleaned out around the following Sunday. However, during my last period, I stopped bleeding the Friday after I started. This was strange for me because it was a couple days sooner than usual. It has never ended that soon before. It's always the exact same amount of time. I was wondering what might have caused this? Is my BC starting to give me shorter periods? Could it have been that I just didn't have as much "residue?" as I usually do? I'm just curious to see if there are any thoughts on this. Thanks guys!

i've been on ortho tricyclen-lo for about 3 months (i'm about a week into the 3rd month) and i haven't noticed any significant side effects except for extremely tender boobs. each month they seem to be getting more and more sore. during the placebo week they barely hurt and right when i start on a new pack they get to the point where i can't even touch them. i can even feel sharp pains in my breasts when i take the pill. it also is annoying because they've grown quite a bit and my old bras don't fit that well anymore and i have like zero money to go buy bigger bras so not even bras support me. so basically, what i'm asking is i know side effects are supposed to subside after 3 months..does this mean all side effects? so if i just stick it out for this last month they'll stop being so sore? i'm just sick of having such tender breasts..it's been like this since i started the birth control ;\

and also, a completely unrelated question but if you go without treating a uti with antibiotics and the symptoms go away does that mean it's gone? how long does it start to take to show symptoms for a kidney infection?

So i'm a little freaked out here. I have not had sex in about 2 years and i recently started masturbating because I'll probably have sex again sometime soon and I don't want to be all gross or something when the time comes (lol).

And i noticed that when I did, upon closer inspection I think pee was squirting out of me (so gross, i know!). I'm really concerned and freaking out about this because i don't want this to happen during foreplay. Does anyone know what is up with this!?!?!?!? i'm starting to flip out here
