Hi all. Wondering if anyone is familiar with something...

I've spent hours looking at images of STDs, vaginas, etc...
but cannot find any descriptions or images similar to what i have...

along my inner labia and entrance to my vagina,  i have lots of small, soft long fleshy things.
almost like...  sea anemone-ish.

no itching, no puss. no cauliflower style.
ive had them for a while now.
last time i had an exam, doc didnt say anything.
it seems like there are more now, though.

i also noticed the right side of my outer labia is totally swollen.. and has been for a week. ive had this happen a few times. i just dont understand why it's only on one side. i didn't feel any cysts or bumps.

i have an appt next week... but it's driving me crazy that i cant seem to find anything about this.

anyone ever hear of this stuff?

Thanks

My gyno tells me I have been "exposed" to two strains of HPV. One is the genital warts kind, the other is the cervical cancer type. My pap was normal, however I am considered at high risk for contracting either strand in the next 6 months. I have an appointment on July 18th to get my first gardasil vaccination, and we'll talk more then. Doc recommends i take folic acid, and avoid smoking to keep my immune system strong so i hopefully will not actually "get" HPV.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Did you test negative after the 6 month wait? What did your gyno recommend that you do to keep your immunity high?

I'm sorry i know this has been asked a million times but..
this is the first time i'm going to skip my period. i'm a sunday starter, so does that mean when i finish with my 3rd week pill on sunday, i start taking the next pack the next day, monday? won't that change my whole starting day forever? or does it not matter?

Hey!

So, here's the deal: I'm sexually active with my boyfriend, the same one I lost my virginity too. Anyway, we have sex regularly, but I've noticed that if we don't for a little while, I get...erm, tighter. At least, it seems like I do. Example, during the 2 weeks of finals at my school, we didn't have sex for a while and when we finally did...ow. Big ow.

Well, we're in two different places for the summer and have been apart for about a month and a half now. And he's coming to visit in two weeks and we'll probably end up having sex.

Since it's been so long, I'm just nervous about the possible pain. Is there anything I can do? Also, has any one else experienced anything like this? Am I actually getting "tighter" or is it a mental thing?

Thanks in advance!

Hi again everyone!

A little background info:
I was pregnant at age 19 and terminated the pregnancy at almost 3 weeks. I knew that I was pregnant less than a week after conception due to very sore breasts, frequent urination and ridiculous cravings for protein. I never experienced any nausea or vomiting.
My question:
I am 28 years old now and my husband and I are trying for a baby. Should I expect the same symptoms as I had during my first pregnancy? I find myself doing the whole "am I/aren't I" dance every few weeks because I think that I feel different somehow, but my symptoms during the first pregnancy were as clear as day.
If it matters, I've only been off of HBC for 3 months and have had one period. The next one is due (maybe?) next weekend.

Thanks!

Edit: I should add that I'm not really stressing about this, just curious. I'm prepared for this to take several months to over a year (maybe more?), so it's more of a "what to expect" thing rather than a "omg!" thing. =)

I wanted to induce my period with parsley tea, but last time I was at the grocery store they had two kinds of parsley- flat leaf and curly leaf. Does it matter which one I get?

Also, it's really hot today, and I could really go for a salad over a cup of tea. Can I just eat the parsley instead? If so, how much should I eat and can I consume it raw or should I wilt it or prep it in some other way first?

My boyfriend and I had sex this morning and he ejaculated inside for the first time.

I'd taken 2 to 3 of my HBC pills late this week (within 2-3 hours). But I took my pill yesterday on time.

Should I still take Plan B?

Also, can I take Plan B with my HBC (Tri-Levlen 28)? The nurse at the clinic gave me two boxes of it when I got my HBC but I can't remember what she said about it.

I'm kind of worried since A) I thought he had a condom on and this is the first time he's done it and B) because I took a few pills late.

edit: I also forgot to ask.. When my boyfriend and I have sex, we often leave behind white marks... or stains rather. And not always because of ejaculate. I'm thinking it's mostly from my nayural lubricant. The thing is, they won't come out if I just spot clean with water and detergent. I'm kind of tired of having to wash my sheets or change them every other day.

Anyone else have that problem or have remedies?

HI everyone.

I'm on my placebo week of HBC. I took my last active pill on Monday, and am due to take the next active one on Tuesday. If I remember correctly, I usually get my period around the second or third day after I've finished the active pills. I take the pill religiously, usually within 15 minutes of my scheduled time.

I haven't gotten my period yet. This month has been particularly stressful, because I started a new and all-consuming job near the beginning of the first week of the cycle.

In the interest of telling all, I also got an erotic massage which included lotions and such near my vag. This prompted a mild yeast infection near the END of my cycle (now). I don't know if this could be related.

I just want to know if anyone else on HBC has experienced a (thus far, slightly) irregular cycle due to environmental factors. I know that before I was on HBC, my period was very sensitive to outside factors.

Thanks for any insight!

maybe you can share this with me... how many times a month do you have sex? are you single or with a partner? do you feel like you are having less sex now than say, a year ago with the same partner? if yes, what do you think the reasons are?

sorry for all the questions, i'm having a weird time adjusting to a "new" routine, but i'm trying to be understanding.

i just got back from my first gynecologist exam. actually, VPers, you're the ones who finally gave me the courage to ask my mom to let me go to a gyno!

i was on birth control up until last month using discounted clinic packs provided by my school. i only had to pay $7 a month for Ortho Tricyclen Lo. however, it turns out that my school is no longer offering the discounted packs.

my only options for birth control (without my parents knowing) are pay the full price for Nuvaring (yes, i switched), or go through insurance. however, i did my homework, and after several phonecalls to my insurance company, i found out that my mom has access to what meds i'm taking through my insurance (i'm completely sure of this). i'm over 20, but that's how the insurance plan works.

there is one other option. to tell my mother that i'm taking birth control, but not for contraceptive purposes. i know that some girls take birth control for cramps or irregular periods, but is there any other reason why someone would have to go on birth control?

Anyone?

I have noticed over the past few days that a weird sour smell is coming from my vajayjay (lol). What could it be and what should I do about it? I am thinking about buying some Summer's Eve products.

I've not been very sexually active in the past 6 or so years. I think the last time I actually had Penis In Vagina (PIV) was 6 years ago in July (to my best recollection). I've had limited other sexual contact since then. (mostly oral sex)

I used to go to the Gyn for my pelvic and pap yearly, but after I moved about 3 years ago, I was just so frustrated and dejected with my lack of sex that I never bothered to get a new gyn.

I've decided that it is time to get off my butt and start caring again. So I have an appointment for 3 weeks from today.

Thoughts and questions: Read more... )

This is with regards to this post, about sucking up water through your snatch while in the bathtub...

I don't like to take full immersion baths anymore, prescisely because I'm afraid of getting water in my snatch.
I sort of have a germ thing when it comes to my snatch... So my thought process goes, "It's dirty bathtub water. It has my germs in it & cleaning solution residue used once a week. And since the tub is used by other people in this house, it has shower-and-foot germs in it."

So really now, how risky is it to take a tub bath, in germs of likelyhood of getting a vaginal infection?
If you get tub water in your vaginal opening or vagina, is that bad? So just how far up there is it likely to go?

I wouldn't use special soaps, fragrances, bath bombs or whatever in it. Just Dove bar soap & maybe a little plain epsom salts.

Ok, so I had my first gyno visit Monday. When I filled out the paper work, it said medical information could be given to my mom. Does this mean that they will tell her I am sexually active? Secondly, I got a pap test and a clymidia and ghonnorea(wow, I can't spell...sorry) test. How will I know the results to these? Do they send them to you in the mail? And how long does it usually take? At my appt, it was really weird. Basically zero talking or explaining of anything, and I don't know if by signing my moms name under giving her medical info(just in case something bad happens to me and she needs to know), if they can tell her I got an STD test. Hope that makes sense....Thanks!!!

Hello lovely ladies (and gents!), I've another question for all of you. About... Mm.. Two or three months ago I noticed that high and deep inside my vagina near my cervix there's a pea sized... thing... hiding behind my vaginal wall. It's definitely not inside the vagina or the wall itself (or at least, not my impression after probing the area for a while) but behind it, near what I'm assuming is the rectum and somehow between the rectum and my uterus/vagina. It's hard, kind of like a tiny bead, and it's gotten a little bigger over the past few months and lately I've been having BM issues and odd cramping before my period. I can't really tell but there may be a larger mass behind the pea itself as well, but I don't really want to poke too hard because, hi, vagina would be in pain. I'm kind of freaked out because my family has a history of problems down there and I'm not sure what to do.

I have searched for these symptoms but can't find anything, and so I put this to you in hopes of possibly semi-diagnosing it so that if I have to go to my school gyno I won't sound completely clueless. Would an intravaginal ultrasound pick up something like this? I've had an abdominal ultrasound before when my gyno thought maybe I had a problem in my ovaries, but that was more than three months ago and the pea was tiny then. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi there! I’m a type 1 diabetic (with no diabetic related complications) who is interested in getting on HBC in the next few months. I wanted to know if there was anyone here who is also diabetic and on HBC, and what their experience with it is. I’ve been researching different types and I know that estrogen can have an effect on raising blood sugar levels (as I’ve seen in my numbers before and during my period), but I wouldn’t think it would be too much of a problem. However, I’ve seen more than one type of HBC come with a warning for diabetes, such as the NuvaRing, so I’m wondering if there’s more to the precaution than it appears. I was specifically looking at the NuvaRing or a monophasic pill. Also, I’m looking to go to my gynecologist for this but should I go to my endocrinologist instead? My general doctor directed me to my GYN, but I’ve seen some websites say that you should consult your endo instead. I have a ridiculous amount of doctors so it gets confusing. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

[identity profile] mercurygrrl.livejournal.com
I went to the doctor today to get a new prescription for BC as the pill I've used for the last few years has been discontinued. I asked for the Nuva Ring after reading about it here and discussing it with the doctor.

One thing I'm still curious about, though - I know how to insert it, but should it be placed "horizontally" or "vertically", so to speak? I know it probably shouldn't matter, but I just like to know.

Hello Everyone,

I just started having sex about a month before a three month trip I am now on (still with the boyfriend, I met him 3 months before this trip I had been planning for awhile.) anyway, i planned to take yasmin all through my trip just to be reliable. i forgot to pick up the tablets! and mexico wouldnt let me have them shipped to me, they were destroyed because i had no medical permit.
anyway, i have made it to peru and have 6 weeks left of my trip. i found out how inexpensive drugs are here, and without prescription, and bought 5 boxes of Famila 28, a birth control pill sold here, for 3 dollars a box. that way when i return i dont have to deal with condoms, right?

my question is: can i put the same faith in this pill as I would in american pills? its probably snotty of me to even suspect that other countries would simply have crappy pills. i got it in the best pharmacy (inkafarma) in cusco, very professional. i also googled it and the results in english were small.. it is only sold in peru and pakistan, was mentioned in a few research reports of trying to control population, and in a list of pills that will work in large doses as morning-after pills of sorts. no statement that it was crappy.

can i trust?
