acs80.livejournal.comHi,
I'm so happy to join this community, since I was a member of IUD Divas for a bittersweet three weeks...until my stupid IUD expelled. I was really sad to leave them all (I felt like a loser hanging around there without an IUD anymore), and I'm glad to have found this place to talk about some girl stuff...
So, my cycle has been weird so far this month. To summarize: my IUD expelled on day 23 of my last cycle, and my stupid doctor told me, when she removed it, that I should take the morning after pill (I didn't think it would do much good at that point, but I took it anyway). It made me feel awful, and I got what I guess was a premature period about two days later -- I bled really heavily for about seven days straight, then I just had spotting for about two more days. So this fact, coupled with many many MANY negative pregnancy tests (I think I took ten in all) makes me think I'm probably not pregnant, despite the IUD slippage.
But. I think I may have ovulated one or two days ago, since I had the stretchy cervical mucus discharge that I always get with ovulation. But I have some pretty bad cramping in the lower left-hand side of my pelvis, and while I know that Mittelschmerz is common in a lot of women, I never get it. Plus, these sensations have lasted for about three days, and I thought ovulation pain was only supposed to last a few hours. Also, the stretchy ovulation discharge has turned into a lot of very wet and slippery discharge.
Does anyone else experience symptoms like this? I've also been a little emotional and craving sweets lately. I kind of freaked out and thought still that I was maybe pregnant, despite the nine days of bleeding and negative pregnancy tests (can you tell I'm a little paranoid?), but I don't have any breast tenderness or anything -- which I think is one of the first signs of pregnancy. I had to take Plan B once before about a year ago, and I remember the next cycle I had after that was really strange, too. The doctor says that any side effects caused by emergency contraception are over in 48 hours, but it seems too coincidental that the cycle I had after my previous experience with Plan B was one of the worst I've ever had, as far as PMS is concerned.
Any advice would be so appreciated! Thanks very much.
