My fiance and I are trying to concieve. I have been fertile since Friday. I have a problem with ovarian cysts, so much so that when I ovulate, I get a little bloated and crampy. So, tonight, I was having a bit of that and decided to attempt sex.

When he pulled out of me, a gel-like substance came out and it was kind of clearish-whitish. Could that have been my cervical mucus? And if it was, wouldn't that mean I was really fertile?

Has anybody had any luck with any herbal remedies for ovarian cysts? I have had pain from mine for a long time and have been on many different types of HBC (none of which have totally supressed the cysts). I am at my wits end with these dumb cysts and the pain that they cause! Any reccomendations would be great! Thanks!

My Dr has prescribed NuvaRing to me to help manage my heavy periods only I had my tubes tied 4 years ago.  I used Seasonale last year and just bled the entire time.  Is anyone else out there using NuvaRing for this purpose.  Any advice?  Have you had success in stacking the rings?  Thanks

so. i got a lovely call that woke me up. from my gyno. telling me that my pap was abnormal again. and scheduled me to come in for a colposcopy again.
(i had the same thing done in august, along with cryosurgery.) blah.
she also informed me that i "have" a yeast infection. i know i dont have one now and i wasnt aware that i had one at the time of my pap. *shrug*
if im not mistaken...cant a yeastie cause an abnormal pap? (maybe its just wishful thinking)
anyway.
aside from being extremely pissed off that ive had yet another stupid abnormal pap. i dont know what the hell to do about it.
honestly. my gyno doesnt have the best reputation. before all this started, i was fine with her. (not that im blaming her for my abnormals...just stick with me). but yea. basically, ive heard stories of ladies getting abnormal paps and her wanting to do either cryo or something else on them. and then they go get a second opinion for whatever reason to find out that they're totally okay. (again. maybe wishful thinking.)
i just seriously do not want to go through all that again unless i absolutely HAVEHAVEHAVE to.
im thinking of getting an appointment with another gyno just to check for sure. if you were me, would you?

my day is pretty much ruined. =(

Hello lovelies.

I've searched around Google & the like for an answer to this, but I don't exactly know what to search for... anyway! So, over the past few months, my period seems to be induced by a certain person. i.e., whenever I see said person vaguely around the time my period is supposed to show up, BAM. My period is there within an hour.

It's happened three times in the past seven months and I am baffled/intrigued, to say the least.

info on specific instances behind the cut )

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? It wouldn't bother me so much, except that I ended up doubled over in menstrual cramps on the one day a month I get to spend with m'lovely and she was very concerned. I know that stress can delay menstruation, but if that happens, can intense relaxation bring them back? Could she have some intense pheremone action going on? I love her with all my heart, and I'm trying to find some explanation for this. It's just too weird to be a coincidence. Any ideas?

Being a junior at a Catholic high school, I have to take a Christian morality class. Naturally, birth control gets brought into discussion a lot.
Today, my teacher (along with exaggerating terrible things about condoms) said that our bodies can get used to the hormones in birth control pills, and that they'll eventually stop working. My immediate response was, "That isn't true at all!" but I honestly haven't read about it anywhere.
I would love to be able to find an article proving this wrong and bring it to class to show my teacher. (Or an article saying this is true, and maybe I'll learn a thing or two.)

Do any of you have information about this? Has anybody even been told this before? I want to be armed with as much info as possible so kids don't get the wrong idea from our teacher.

I haven't had a 'real' period in about two months. All that comes out is a little bit of blood. It's kind of like I'm ovulating instead of bleeding every month. This has happened to me before, and it's been going on for about two years now occasionally. Like, there will be some months where I will bleed normally, but in between it'll get all funky for 2 or 3 months.

What the hell is wrong with my goodies?

And no, I do not have sex.

i just got my diva cup and i am very happy with it... it seems most people have some problems getting used to it but i just kind of played around with it in the shower, inserted it, took it out, inserted it, and today emptying it was no problem. easy breezy, no problem at all.

two things:
my cramps have been BRUTAL this time around. they were brutal before i had to put the cup in, but they have been there constantly my whole period. and when i say brutal I KNOW BRUTAL. i take ibuprofen every few hours to keep them down, and i've gotten pretty good at timing my pill swallowing because...well, i do this every month. without pills my cramps are like demons kicking and twisting my insides, i've collapsed on the steet and people have called ambulances on me, i've nearly passed out trying to drive home and spent hours curled up in a starbucks bathroom, puking and crying.

yesterday they were at that level for a few minutes, a few minutes is enough, but i have NEVER had that pain unless i missed my pills. can a body get "used" to something like ibuprofen so that it stops working? i only take pills when im cramping, and i try not to take too much.

and there is NO way the cup could have caused my cramps to be constantly bubbling away in my abdomen, right?

and, back to the cup:
like i said i can put it in and get it out just fine. my only problem is that it wont "rotate easily". the instructions say you should be able to easily rotate it and that shows it is in properly. i dont know if i dont have a good grip on it, if im too tight, or if my fingers are just too slippery, or if it really is in wrong. there havent been any leaks or anything, and its not pinching me or uncomfortable.

any ideas? thanks, ladies!

So this is kind of weird.
My boyfriend has pretty sensitive skin, and after he fingers me, the finger he used gets really pruney. But it stays like this for a long time, like, after his hand is fully dried, like a few hours later even. Sometimes the skin also gets kind of dry-ish.
He said he's had this problem with past girlfriends and that when it gets back, sometimes he will get a blister-like thing on the finger.

For the record we've both been tested for STIs and both of us are negative for everything. It's not that big a deal to us if it's just his finger, but when we start having sex, we don't want him to get that reaction elsewhere.

I've taken a glance through through the memories and didn't see what I was looking for, but if I've missed something, feel free to point me in the right direction.

I'm on the NuvaRing, and my boyfriend and I are monogomous. I've been on the ring for about 5 months now, and a different pill before that, so I've gotten used to the change in my discharge from the ring. Recently, my boyfriend and I have become comfortable with the level of protection that the ring provides, and he's started ejaculating inside me. We both like this change, but I've noticed something different. As many as 2 1/2-3 days later, I notice a change in discharge. First of all, there is simply more of it... but it's also more... clumpy, I guess? It always goes back to normal within a few days, but it sorta freaked me out the first couple of times. I guess I want to know two things; 1) Is this normal? and 2) Is there anything I can do to prevent it, save having him not ejaculate inside me?

Thanks!

I heard great things about HBC pills for helping acne. I've heard of other people's personal experiences which HBC pills has helped them with their acne. I hear a lot of people wanting to be on HBC pills for acne problems, as well.

My close cousin is on HBC pills to control her wild acne problems. She says it's helped her greatly in controlling her acne problems.

I've never had an acne problem. Of course I get the occasional pimple here & there, but overall I have very good skin. However, after being on HBC pills, I've started to break out MUCH more & all over my forehead. They hardly go away & when they do, they leave reddish marks, & sometimes scar. Then NEW ones show up. My boyfriend, who could really care less about my pimples, wondered why I was breaking out so much & also asked if the HBC pills had anything to do with it (since it's supposed to help control it?).

I know stress could be a BIG factor for pimples & I'm also on my period (nearing the end). However, I just came back from an one month winter break (from school) & school has just started so there isn't much stress to consider. I've been eating normally as well, if not healthier than I did before.

SO MY QUESTION IS... Has anyone dealt with pimple problems, or bad acne since starting on the pill? Or is it not the pill that is causing all my breakouts? & if anything, how did you deal with it? (e.g. creams, medication, switching to another brand of pills, etc...)?

So I posted a while back about my ugly yeast beast and my desire to switch types of b.c. to get rid of the underlying cause of the infection. Meanwhile, I decided to try gentian violet to get rid of my current yeast infection. I used it three nights in a row and after the third night, my vagina turned into a throbbing mass of pain! Seriously, I have never felt burning like this before. The entire inside of my vagina, including inner/ outer labia are red and raw and burning like ARGH! My insurance is teh suck so tomorrow I'm off to planned parenthood to see if they can cut this ball of pain out of my flesh... or more realistically tell me what the hell is wrong with me. In the meantime, anyone have this reaction to gentian violet? There's no warning on the bottle or anything... also, are there any sort of skin soothing, burn relieving things I can put on my vag to make the pain subside at least a little? I've taken some ibuprofen but that's much too indirect for my liking right now.

My vagina thanks you.
