so i started my period on tuesday..and i had very very mild cramping..that was it..
wednesday was fairly normal..kinda light.
thursday i was down to spotting..
and friday i was completely off my period
so i really had a 3 day period..
im not on any birth control
and i had no PMS symptoms before i started
and after tuesday, i had absolutely no cramps or anything.
it was just a tremendously short period..
i thought maybe i was pregnant because i know people who had periods their first month, but very short ones..
so i took a test this morning
and it came up negative..
so what could be the cause of my really short period?

my periods usually go as follows:
first-second day light
third-fourth-very heavy
fifth-light
sixth-off

which is why this 3 day thing has kinda thrown me off..would this effect my ovulation as well? because me and my fiance are TTC and i dont want to have to track my ovulation or whatever..

...I guess this is really an "Am I pregnant" sort of post, but I'd appreciate other insights. However, I most likely will not take emergency contraception, so...

I was a bit stupid about my cycle and had unprotected sex on Nov.12. My period started the evening of Nov.2 and ended ~6 days later. My recent cycles have been fairly long, the previous one being 39 days, with luteal phases lasting about 15 days, but I have had freakishly short ones before.

The reason I felt confident that I was infertile at the time was mainly that I had been completely dry the day before. I know that sperm doesn't survive long in dry or "sticky" or other non-ideal environments, but I'm starting to have doubts about just how dry I was when I had sex...I was VERY lubricated and open (although that might have been just extreme arousal, etc.).

After the fact, I felt general wetness and cervical fluid to show up today...I feel like it's too early for that. It doesn't feel like the "ideal," copious, stretchy kind, but it's enough to make me worry. My cervix (which got hit a few times during sex) also seems to be softer and higher now.

I'm going to get an ovulation detector kit in the morning to see if the LH surge has occured, along with a pregnancy test. I have to wait to take that, of course, but I guess I'd like a little peace of mind. Sorry about the rambling -- I'm stressed (obviously) and can't sleep. Thanks.

I have read here several times about using Evening Primrose for PMS relief but not really sure what dosage, etc.   I purchased a 1000mg bottle today.  Do you take it all month?  Premenstrual?   How much? Mods feel free to delete if this is not appropriate

I have a question. I am a little over 20 wks pregnant and for the past couple weeks I have been waking up with sharp pains on my right side, just under my ribs. It mostly only happens at night and goes away during the day (although it has happened a couple times during the day). It was hurting last night and I went to go pee and I noticed that my pee was cloudy. I know about round ligament pain but to me it seems like its too high to be that doesnt it? does anyone have any idea what could be causing my side to hurt? do you think its serious enough to call the doctor or should I just wait since I have a doctors appointment next wednesday anyway? any info would be appreciated. thanks.

*edit* I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago so its not that..

Hi Guys!
This is my first post, I am usually just a lurker learning from other peoples posts.
I was due to have my period on my wedding day on August 26th, so instead of stopping the pills I moved directly into another pack to avoid getting my period. When I got home from my honeymoon on September 11th I stopped taking the pill immediatly to allow my period to happen and I had one period 5 days after stopping, just like I normally would. I did not go back on the pill because we want to let nature take it course and hopefully make a baby this winter. HOWEVER, I have not since had another period, no symptoms, nothing, its like there is no such thing as a period. Its been over 50 days people, I thought my periods might be screwy, but I didn't think they would not exist.
This is really bothering me, as I want to get pregnant and I want to know when I am fertile, I didnt think it would take over 3 months to get back to normal.

On one hand I want to try and induce my period somehow, so I can get back on track, but on the other hand I am terrified that I will screw things up furthur, or even worse that I am pregnant and somehow hurt the baby, (2 tests have said negative both at differant times of the day, first thing in the am and later in the day and both were negative.)

I guess my question is only has anyone else gone through this? Did they just wait it out?

Thanks in advance

So once in a while, my urine smells...kind of sweet. To me, it smells kind of like buttered sweet corn. o.0 Anyone know what's up with that?

Iv been under a tremendious amount of stress for the past month or two..

Iv also been stacking my nuvarings so I would avoid a period.

I took my ring out on the tenth (a day late) and have not yet had my period.

Is this normal? Could the stress be causing this or the stacking of the rings?

Is there a website with every or most types of pills listed?
I checked the memories in the HBC section and it only lists a few on that outline.

Thanks!

I was poking around Drugstore.com, picking up facewash and condoms, when I came across Plan B (the morning-after pill/emergency contraception) availible on their website. I'm going to order a packet to have, just in case.

It's $40, which is the same amount I paid when I got it from Planned Parenthood last Christmas.

Link!

If this has already been posted, please let me know. But I had no idea and I was so excited!

I've noticed something that really, really shocked me over the past week or two reading VP- which is how much people in the US seem to be paying for their BC. I have to say that it struck me dumb!
I'm Irish, and I've been on BC living here (in Ireland), and in the UK. In the UK, the pill is free. You go to the doc (for free) and get your BC prescription, wander down to the pharmacy and they give you the pills. No money required. (I guess they figure that it's a hell of a lot cheaper and more sensible to let everyone have access to the pill than to have to deal with whole bunches of unwanted pregnancies).

In Ireland, we do have to pay for the pill. The last time I got my prescription, I had to pay around €10 (about US$12) for three months'. The most I've ever had to pay for a month of pills (and I've been on five different kinds) was about €7 (around $9). Normally, also, if you get a few months' worth at a time, you pay less.

I have to say that the idea of women having to pay these utterly exorbitant amounts for something that I've always seen as such a basic thing.. it just shocks me. It just seems so.. obvious.. that the pill should be freely available. I also wonder at why they're costing so, so much- how do they get people to pay SO much for HBC?!

Yep.
I just can't get my head around it.

So, I was feeling around down there today and encountered something I'd never felt before. Now, I have rather *ahem* large labia minora (as in, they hang out about a centemetre or two), and on the inside of my right one (in the middle down towards the opening of my vagina), there's this bump. It's not painful, and it feels rather like an overgrown tastebud might feel on the surface of your tongue or the inside of your cheek. I first thought it was some sort of smegma, but it refuses to scrape off with my fingernail (and it hurts when I do that....but normally, you know? Like in a "hey, wtf you trying to do to me?" kind of thing, not a "hey, wtf is this abnormal thing DOING here?!" way). It's the same colour as the skin around it and quite tiny--again, think tastebud.

So just wanted to know what you girls thought.

As well, (this was the first time I was looking up close and personal at my girly parts with a mirror), I noticed that my vaginal opening isn't round...it's kinda....ragged. As in, there's a triangular flap of skin on the one side, and then one on the top, and then this rounded skin on the other side. I always have pain when my boyfriend first penetrates me, and it's always just on my vaginal opening, so maybe this is it?

I mean, I've been having sex for 3 months now, you'd think I'd have gotten used to the whole thing by now. Out of curiosity, how long did it take for you girls to stop hurting (if it did hurt at all :P) during sex?

Just wondering :)

My boyfriend and I had sex for the first time tonight. We were both virgins. He said he couldn't feel anything with the condom we used. (Which was a durex love). What is your SO's favorite condom to use?

ok, we just found out that my fiancee has genital herpes.  i know that there is no 100% safe sex.. but i have a few questions regarding what is safer.

he has only had one outbreak, one small thing that blistered over and has now scabbed, and a little redness on the tip of his penis.

obviously, we know not to have sex while he is having an outbreak, or if one is coming on.  does this include him performing oral sex on me?  he has never had a cold sore or anything, can it still be transmitted?  should we avoid oral sex all together, during an outbreak or not?

how long after the scab heals is it considered ok to have sex?

Cramps!

Hello Ladies!

I don't know if this is technically *vagina related*, but I think it's probably all linked. Anyway, since about Tuesday, I've had really really horrible cramps. And at first I thought "Yep, my period's coming, this is all normal." But I got my period on Friday. And it's ending now, but I still have these TERRIBLE cramps and I'm still really bloated.. Like, I just can't move a lot of the time. They've never been this bad. And I have been taking ibprufen (sp?) becuase I can't take paracetamol (becuase of the other pills I'm taking for recurring yeast infections, it's called Nizoral.)

Anyway, I'm wondering what I should do? Like, should I be worried? Has this ever happened to anyone? They seem to be getting worse since Tuesday.
