I posted a long while back about finally achieving my first orgasm through external masturbation, but now I'm really interested in trying internal masturbation. The problem? I can't get through my hymen. I've tried on several occasions (although tonight was the first that I've tried in a long while) when I'm plenty turned on and I'm plenty relaxed. I can feel it stretch slightly around the very tip of my finger, but then it just starts hurting so bad. I tried probably an hour ago and it's still extremely sore. Is this normal? I've been reading up a lot today on hymens and it seems like every post I read, the person acts like it wasn't a problem at all. I'm probably getting more nervous about this than I should be, but it's getting frustrating at this point.

So, do you think that only getting the tip of my finger in is success? Am I just chickening out too soon? Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less? Suggestions of any kind? I'm open to anything you guys are willing to throw at me...

Thanks a bunch!

hi dolls.

I was just wondering, has anyone here with a Nuva Ring had more UTI's and/or bladder infections since the start of it?

I've never had a bladder infection before - and it doesn't hurt to pee at all - however, 2 doctors in the course of 2 months have both found bacteria in my urine and said i had/have a UTI. I feel fine, maybe i just don't pay attention? i got to thinking, maybe it's my nuva ring. What do you think?

I've been on it for one full year now and i enjoy it a lot. it would really be a shame if it was going to start causing problems now.

i went through the archives and nothing really answered my question full on, so sorry if this has been already answered.

it's been months since i last had my period. i'm 16, turning 17 in november. my previous school year has been very stressful for me (especially with a crazy chinese lady of a math teacher) so i'm wondering if maybe stress has something to do with my late periods?

but the thing is, i got my first period a few years ago when i was 14 and it has always been late and always inconsistant. i think it skipped a whole half a year a few times.

i think i'm going to have my period soon either tomorrow or a couple days because all the tell-tale symptoms of menstruation have arose (breasts swelling + hurting, pimples, eating LOTS) and tonight i just started to feel cramps. for the past month or so, i've been sleeping very late (about 2-4 in the morning is my usual bedtime) because it's the summer, and i have no reason really to get up early all the time. so maybe this has something to do with it?

so my question is:

is stress related to my late/missing periods? my sleeping patterns? is there anything to do to stop "missing" periods?

i'm very paranoid and i think i might not be ovulating as often as i should be, for whatever reason? if this is so, will this affect my future when i plan to have children?

thanks so much for reading and helping out.
:)

Speculums

What would you use to sanitize a plastic speculum? Yes, it will be going in my vagina.

My period started yesterday afternoon...it is heavier when it starts, but I have never had it this heavy. Overnight I bled through 3 super plus tampons. Plus I NEVER get cramps. And now its pretty damn bad. Should this be cause for concern? My first was at age 17; I'm 25 1/2 now.

Hello all.  A couple of nights ago I had sex twice in a very short period of time so I was sore like I always am.  The next day I woke up with a streak of weird brown discharge... No odor but it was kind of a weird texture.  I figured I had just been cut or something simple like that.  But I haven't had sex until just today and the discharge was always in my panties.. Like it would appear in the matter of an hour.. When I would wipe it looks like that kinda brown stuff you have when your period is just ending.  [I'm on the pill and my period isn't due to next week].  Well.. My SO and I had sex this morning.. Very much of a quickie before he went to class and I got up and noticed that instead of the normal clear spots that appear on the bed normally.. They are shaded brown.  Does anybody know what is going on?!  Thank you.  Oh.. And there was no pain with today's sex.  Thanks. [=

I looked through ljskeek briefly as I don't have a whole lot of time to research right now. I am looking to have another baby, and got my IUD taken out in June (after only having it for 10 months). I took Orthotricyclen for a month and a half afterwards, but not regularly or every day. 2, almost 3 weeks ago I stopped taking BC all together in hopes of getting pregnant. I have no idea how long it generally takes to get pregnant after being on so many hormonal birth controls.

My main question is: I'm using an ovulation calendar (it's crazy how regular my periods have been regardless of all the changes in hormones) and it says I am fertile today and am ovulating on Sept. 4th - assuming that the hormones from b/c are out of my system, how good of a chance do I have of getting pregnant from the sex last night? I know sperm can live up to 5 days. I also plan on having sex more this weekend..

I hope this makes sense to someone out there :) I am having insane baby fever right now and feel like it's such a good time to add to our family that I'm overly excited and anxious!

So as of late, I've been low income, and had to make use of everything I have doubly... to cut down on costs.  This includes underwear.  I usually wear one side one day, and the other the next.. and then they go in the hamper.  This cuts down on laundry costs.

Lately I have noticed though, that when I am folding my underwear up after washing them... they are looked "bleached".  It is quite weird, and I know they are clean, even after a second run through the wash they still look this way.  This is only on the part that would be leaked on by my secretions.  That sounds weird, but I don't know how to describe where exactly it is.  But by bleached, I mean that the area is completely devoid of color any longer, and has become a white/cream color.  On both sides.

Is my body bleaching my panties?  Seems like a weird thing.

The other day my boyfriend was fingering me and he said he felt a strange lump on my cervix (we established what that was a while ago when he asked about the thing at the top of my vagina lol)  I checked it out myself and sure enough, there is a lump there.  I'm 17, been sexually active since I was almost 15, and have never felt it before.  I was on the pill for a while but for the last 18 months or so I've been on the depo provera.  I just got my latest shot this week.  Is it normal for the cervix to have a lump? Or should I see a doctor?
If so, what should I expect? I've never been to a GN or even just a GP for a check up "down there", mostly because I've never needed to.
Oh, and when I was 2 I had an STI - genital warts.  No one is quite sure where it came from or anything, and it was all cleared up by the time I was 3 and I've never had any problems.. but could it be making a come back? Could this be it?
Please help!

Has anyone participated in a clinical trial, especially one for birth control? What was it like? How risky are they? Is there a chance I could get a placebo?

I saw an ad for one at school, and I'm interested in helping out the medical community (and in turn, women).

Ok so this is kind of a weird/embarrassing question, a little TMI too lol, but can I get any advice from you more-experienced ladies on how to properly give a blowjob? I know there's a lot of things you can do, but I'm looking for more specific tips to make it better overall..*hides in shame* hehe Thanks a lot!

Alright, my friends, this has never been an issue before, but I now have a girlfriend. So it is. So help me out.

I have been taking some form of anti-depressant since I was ten. I have been on millions of meds including Xanax, Paxil, and most recently, Zoloft. I have been taking 150 mg of Zoloft for about 2 years now, and I am being weaned off of it... I'm down to 50 mg every other day.

Here's the thing: I have pretty much NO feeling in my clitoris. Which didn't used to be a problem, because I was just kind of like, "ok, masturbating is not doing anything, whatev" (I've never had an orgasm so I don't care TOO much).

But now I have a girl. And now I am realising that a clitoris? Is a Very Important Thing. And mine doesn't function properly :(

So here's what I want to know: Will I EVER get feeling (back) into my clitoris? Again, it wouldn't really bother me, but my girl wants to give me orgasms and she feels awful that she can't, and I feel awful that I can't do it for her. So if you know of anything that will accentuate feeling in the clit, let me know. I am a little desperate.

Thanks in advance!

[PS: I do know about G-spot orgasms and such, but have never been able to give myself one and haven't REALLY gotten to that with the girl yet. Hopefully, one day, I can experience both sorts of orgasms. I will keep you updated.]

Thanks to everyone who commented on the last post :)

Okay, I went in for surgery today, even though the abscess had ruptured yesterday. My gyno took one look at it and was like "Okay, we don't need to do surgery." He sent me home with another prescription for antibiotics (now I'm on six pills a day o.0 better work). I'm continuing to take baths in warm water every couple hours, if only to clean the pus and gross, nasty stuff away from the area.

Today, I was supposed to go to training for a job, training which goes on tomorrow as well. I emailed my supervisor, explaining the situation (SURGERY OMG) and asked to be pardoned. I haven't heard back yet, and I'm not sure whether I should go in tomorrow. I'm leaning towards skiving off, since I think I need another day at least to let this heal up happily. What do you girls think?

Also, anyone know how long this thing will drain for? It was approximately 1cm x 1cm, and it ruptured yesterday at about 5:30 pm. It's considerably smaller now (half the size at least), but draining less quickly than it did at first.

Er...that's all for now. Just letting you girls know that I'm not dead from surgery or anything.

For the past 4 or 5 months, I've been getting pain after my period.

So my period lasts for seven days - that's all cool, but for the following five days after it ends, my labia majora and the area around the bartholin's glands feels swollen.

Everything looks normal, but this swollen feeling is just constant for 5 - 6 days. It's not sore exactly but it's uncomfortable, especially when I sit down. Another way to describe it would be to say that it feels like I'm constantly aroused - but without all the wetness. It feels like there is a lot of blood in the area.

Does anyone experience this or know what I'm on about and what I might do to stop it?

Thank you!

This question is for someone I know. She asked me for my advice today, and I didn't know what to tell her so I'm hoping you ladies can help me out.

My friend has a history of severe cervical dysplasia, and she also has PMS to the point where she becomes completely volatile. She has a mental illness as well, so I'm pretty sure that's what contributes to her homicidal and suicidal ideation prior to menstruating. She's talked to a doctor about it, and it's severe enough that they want to give her hormone treatments. (She's already on anti-depressants but they don't help her since her mental problems are PTSD related and she's still trying to cope with her issues and triggers.) I suggested that perhaps she take an anti-psychotic when she's PMS-ing, since they do seem to be psychotic symptoms. She's going to talk to a psychiatrist about this, if she has the resources to.

My questions are:

1.) Is hormone treatment really necessary? I heard hormone treatments can heighten your risk of cancer, which doesn't seem like a good idea in her case- what with her cervical dysplasia and all. In fact, that's why some doctors won't even put her on estrogen-based birth control (she uses Depo I think) because it might cause her dysplasia to get worse. So, I really don't know how hormone treatment will be any different!
2.) For those who have experienced this type of PMS before (perhaps Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder?) what did you doctor recommend? What helped you?

I know most of you aren't medical professionals, but I want to give her some information so that next time she sees her doctor she can ask about other options that have worked for women in her similar situation.

Any feedback would be wonderful.
