So this past Saturday night I had rough sex with my boyfriend and I'm assuming that's the reason why my vagina is irritated and uncomfortable now. I guess the feeling can best be described as having a bunch of tiny cuts. Even my vulva bothers me. The discomfort comes and goes (it mostly hurt Sunday) and seemed to have gone away all of yesterday but it came back today with a vengeance. When I peed it kinda hurt a little. I finally decided to use this Rephresh cream I'd heard about. It was kind of like using yeast infection cream and it came with an applicator you insert into your vagina and push the gel out with. I think I inserted it too hard and maybe too far in because it hurt me a bit and I used all of it, even though the directions said that when used as directed some of the gel would be left over.

So my questions are does this sound like the result of too much rough sex or something else? Maybe a yeast infection or UTI? Could I have hurt myself even more when inserting the applicator? Is it bad that I used all of the gel? Btw, thanks in advance and I'm sorry this is so long I'm just in pain and very desperate at this point =/.

P.S. My boyfriend and I are both std free and in a monogamous relationship.

This is a bit embarrassing which is why I'm using a fake journal. But I'm in my 30's and this is very new to me. Yes, I've looked through the faq and the history and even googled things but I must not be looking in the right place.

Once a woman starts becoming regularly sexually active, what changes take place in her body?

I'm in my 30's and lost my virginity a few months ago to a long time boyfriend and we've been active ever since. We lost it to each other and we're both std free. I've been on the pill for menstrual problems for about 4 years now. When I'm ovulating (I use a chart) we also use a condom.

My body seems to have changed and it's really not for the better. My breasts started hurting (sore when touched/squeezed/even laying on them) about a month after becoming active and I started having occasional uterine cramps even when not due. Once the heartburn started occasionally I talked with my bf who said those were pregnancy symptoms. I took a pregnancy test both before and after my period started and both said negative. In the following month I took two more, one a week, each coming back negative.

Both periods I've had since becoming sexually active have been extremely heavier than usual. My last one lasted about two weeks. I've gained 10 lbs in 2 months and I haven't changed my dieting/exercise habits at all. I take my pill every day on the dot and we chart my ovulation days (in case the pill has an uh-oh) religiously and make sure we use backup. Are these changes normal for a woman once she starts having sex? If not, is there any reason why my body would be behaving in this fashion when I'm not pregnant? I tried to google my symptoms in case there was some other reason but I only get pregnancy sites.

And no, I cannot make it to my dr for an exam because my workplace is extremely strict and I have no more vacation days or sick days so that I could take off to see my dr. It will be at least two months before I have enough time to take off.

All help is appreciated!

Ok, so I went off my HBC about... 2 and a half weeks ago, give or take. I went to my gyno appintment on the 23rd with what I thought was the start of a withdrawl period. Well, it lasted all of a day and a half and since then, nothing. No cramps, no bloating, no nothing. Granted, i feel absolutely terrific and my libido is returning (much to my fiance's delight) and I have an appointment for an IUD insertion later this month. I just have no idea when my period will actually be coming. There's absolutely no chance I could be pregnant (only had sex twice since going off HBC, both times with condoms while he was inside me and all juices ended up far away from my vulva). I just wonder when should I start worrying? My gyno will give me a pg test when I got to get the IUD inserted, but I'd like to have at least one cycle beofre I go in.

i'm on birth control, and have been for a few years, because i naturally have about a 3 week long period complete with cramps and extremely heavy bleeding the entire time through.
i've missed a pill before, and formed a sort of personal saying that the number of pills in a row ive missed equals double that number in days of period (example: missed one pill, i have two days of a "period" right after, but that period is just a teeny one, and i still have a monthly regular bc-induced period when the pills are blanks)
hopefully that made sense....

and i know when people miss pills they dont always have a mini- period like i do.

i'd also like to mention that im a virgin and barely ever forget a pill.

now on to the problem. i missed a pill one night, and took both the next night when i usually take my pills. so i would be expecting a day or two of light bleeding....

but its been a little more than a Week and i dont know what's going on.
i dont think it's a big problem, but i would like to know if anyone else has had this experience, and what exactly is going on in my body.

thanks!

Ever since I started my period I've been afraid to go camping, but I've been thinking it would be MUCH easier with the divacup. Except--what would I clean up with? Would baby wipes work all right on the cup and be safe for my insides? What about those after-dinner wetnap things?

I've noticed that my ability to have sex comes in stages. Right now I'm in the totally turned off, extremely oversensative stage (touch my clit or nipples and it feels like poking a burn x_x), sometimes I'll be in a stage where doggy-style is THEVERYBEST and other times I'm either hitting my cervix or I feel like I'm bumping organs up and down. I'd like to try tracking these things, see if there's a pattern, something I could prepare for....... I want to make a sex journal! Are there any websites out there that would track that kind of thing, or would track something more general where I could insert the tag of what I'm trying to track? I'd like to be able to make a nice graph of some kind to get a good visual of what's going on :D

I'm on antibiotics twice a day for ten days, Amox-Clav (generic for Augmentin). The pharmacist told me it would interact with my birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo), while I'm taking it and for a week afterward.

Several questions:
Why/how does it interact? Does it make the pill not work right therefore making me ovulate?
Is the effect as if I'm not taking birth control at all? If I use condoms, I should be fine and have no reason to worry, right?

Sorry that this isn't put together so well.
Thank you for any help!

Hi all,
I've been looking for a good cycle tracker, but most of them have been online.  I'm not going to have internet access as often as I would like, so if you know of any free downloadable ones, that would be great. :)

hey. i have found a lot of very helpful information via other people's entries so i'm hoping that i can get some help with the difficulties i'm currently having with my vag. i have had the symptoms of yeast infection for the past three weeks (itching, white discharge, general discomfort), so i treated with an over the counter medication about two weeks ago. the itching has lessened but not completely subsided, and i'm still having some discharge. in addition to this my urine has been emitting some weird odors, i'm not sure how to describe it except plasticy. AND on top of this my period is two weeks late. i took a test on tuesday of this week and tuesday of last week and both were negative. there is a small chance that i could be pregnant, due to a late night/early morning half asleep escapade... I stopped taking bc in february and my period hasn't really been normal since. basically i'm just wondering if anyone can give me insight into what all this means. i know i need to get to the doctor, but i was hoping to put it off since its super expensive and i feel like a hypochondriac every time i make an appointment and it turns out to be nothing. thanks!
