am i correct to think that pms symptoms always change over the years? over the past few months ive begun the "being crazy" part of pms. that meaning, my emotions are wild and my temper is short. ive always been so happy that i never was affected by any of this, and now much to my dismay, here it is :(. i realize that birth control could put these mood swings under control, but because of personal reasoning i choose not to take that route. so just out of curiosity, what causes these sudden changes, anyone know? be it the mood swings or the horrible physical pains that ive learned so many others also endure?

I'm taking Alesse right now for birth control, but it's not strong enough to help me skip my periods. I have really horrible cramps, so aside from not getting knocked up, my main goal in BC is to kill the cramps/period all-together if I can help it.
So far Alesse has done next to nothing for that.
I'm from Canada, and the birthcontrol pill I want to ask about may not be available here (the two docotrs I've talked to haven't heard of it. I have an appointment with another next month).
What do you guys know about Seasonale? Does it work? Can you get it in Canada? If not, is there an equivilant(sp?) I can get here? Are there bad side-effects I should know about?

Please let me know, so I at least have something to tell the doctor if she doesn't know.

Thanks.

I just wanted your opinions. I recently broke up with my boyfriend and I am, as you could guess, very upset. The other night, I masturbated with random thoughts and enjoyed it quite well. I figured I could continue to masturbate in this period of post break-up depression, but now I'm unsure. Everything from Hello Kitty slippers to the colour blue reminds me of him, and I am getting increasingly sad. Now I fear that if I masturbate, I will think of him.

Should I give it a shot just to see how it goes? Should I not risk it at all?

This is bugging me so much. :(

today is day 10 of my using the nuvaring, and unfortunately, i've noticed something of a serious drop in sex drive. also, my partner and i tried twice for a long time, but i just cannot reach orgasm. i used to be a horny beast all the time, and i could come in under ten minutes. :( is this just my body adjusting to the hormones or is this going to continue?

Hello, I know I should be posting this in the amipregnant LJ, butr it said it was full so I figured maybe you can help me.... I need some advice!!!?? THANKS!!
1. What type of birth control (Condoms, pills, pulled out) did you use, if any? None, Withdrawal

2. Were there any problems with your protection (condom breaking, missing pills)? No

3. If you didn't use any birth control, are you trying to get pregnant? Not at all

4. How many days are between the first day of one period and the first day of your next? Usually 30 -37, but I have skipped a month in the past a few times..

5. Any big changes which could change your cycle (major change in diet, exercise, new medication, new stress?) Some stress from work/ boyfriend getting laid off,

6. What was the date your last period *started*? May 26th

7. What date(s) did you have sex? June 11, June 18, and July 8

8. Where was ejaculation(in vagina, in condom, pulled-out)? Pulled out, came on my stomach

9. Is there anything else that makes you think you're pregnant? Well, its really weird for the past few days my breasts are really sore ( Which happens right before my period all the time ) but I took 2 pregnancy tests ( First response early test on June 25 and an EPT on July 4- both negative )

Hi, my name is Ashley [I'm 17] and I'm currently on Loestrin 24 [24 days of active pills and 4 non-active].. I've only been on it for about two months now, but Ive been getting really bad cramps and some brown spotting on the second and third weeks of the pill. Do you think this will stop as I continue taking it, or should I consider switching pills? And should I wait till I visit my gyno in August, or should I call her now?

btw, The only reason I even take birth control is because my cramps are so severe.. and what's the point if this isn't helping? [although I am sexually active, I always make him wear a condom]

ps. I also have very mild acne, and as I've started taking this pill, I've noticed..or atleast I think it's making it worse?

Advice please :[

I searched the archives and didn't really find what I was looking for... I figured I'd post this information for everyone, while asking a few questions, too. ^_^;

I've got a cyst on my right ovary. It's 4cm, I was wondering what some of you used that's homeopathic/natural to help it? If anything at all? (We only discovered it last night at the hospital, I thought it was my gall bladder because of where it was hurting!)

This site has info on cysts, and, on alternative treatments.

First off, I'm on Birth Control Pills.

I've been taking Evening Primrose oil, for at LEAST a month. I'm also on some other things, a type of health food that's used to shrink tumors, in hopes it'll work (Flor Essence) Along with PMS Tea (from Traditional medicines, if you haven't tried it, it works well for getting off the extra fluid retention. But it kept me from having my period until I stopped drinking it for a day.) and Detox Tea (by Yogi Tea). But I wanted to know if there was anything you guys used specifically for this?

I was prescribed Antibiotics (Flagyl) and pain medicine (Vicodin) and I have to go to my gyno as soon as possible. I'm worried because I've read online that if you're on birth control pills, and get ovarian cysts, it can mean that there's another problem... Any advice would be helpful/any idea of what might work other than the things listed on that site would also be appriciated.

I know from reading here that they usually put people on different types of birth control, if you're getting cysts on BC... What kind were you put on? ^^;

And does IUD help prevent cysts better than normal BC, or about the same?? (I'd like one, simply for the easiness of it...)

I'm a little frustrated because I've read through the pamphlet I got with my OTC-lo, and I have read through the FAQ, and nowhere does it say how much time I have to take my pill before it becomes ineffective. When I got it from my doctor, he said two hours before or after my normal time is safe to take it, but I'm just double checking because I've not read that in any instructions I recieved with my pill.
So, if someone could give me an answer, I would be most grateful. I usually take it at 10 pm, but I fell asleep and took it at 10:50. I presume I'm still okay, or have I rendered it ineffective?
Thanks so much.
