Hi ladies,

I've googled, looked through the VP sidebar and did a VP word search, but didn't really find what I'm looking for and I'm hoping someone can help me.

For the last few days I've had a watery vaginal discharge that smells like vinegar. I'm 38 years old, and have never had this before that I remember. I've had YI's many, many times before, and a touch of BV a few times last year, and this smell is very different from each of those. I have NO other symptoms; no itching or anything else.

Other info... I'm in the middle of my cycle. I have had an IUD for two years with no problems. I'm living with my fiance and have for two years. The frequency of sex in my life has been pretty stable at a few times a week for a few years. No changes in diet or soap or menstrual products at my last period.

I've been exercising a bit more frequently lately to try to get in shape, and I did read somewhere that watery discharge can be increased with exercise, but it's not as though I'm exercising excessively- I've done much more at other times in my life.

It's not so strong that I really think I should see a doctor, but it is strong enough for my fiance to take notice and not want to -um- go there... I have a tube of RePhresh left over from the last time I had a touch of BV 6 months ago that adjusts the vaginal pH, but I'm not sure if I should try it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Is it possible to just have a very small vaginal canal?

Okay, on June 23rd I got married.  Three days earlier on June 20th, the stress from the wedding caused my period to start two and a half weeks early.  Full blown very heavy for about a week, then light for the rest of the time.  This period ended yesterday.  YAY.  I took my nuva_ring out on Wendnesday. (I have been on birth control for four years, never ever had breakthrough bleeding before)  I get up today to find that my period which was supposed to start yesterday/today if I hadn't got the other one, did in fact decide to visit-- heavier than it has ever been before in my life, which is saying alot.

At this point, I have been bleeding in some form for almost three weeks.  I can't get to a doctor until Monday-- is this emergency room stuff or wait til the doctor stuff?  Any advice?  I'm really just tired of bleeding. :(

This is a bit of embarassing question. Off and on I will go through periods where sex is very painful. It is almost like I have an yeast infection, but I know it isn't cause I've tried treatments and such. We don't use condoms as a form of birth control so I know it is not a latex allergy. Recently this has started again. I will feel extreme pain in certain positions while having sex in the cervical area, and the outside is burning and itchy. It almost feels like there are little open cuts, and it is really painful. This is really depressing me, and how I've been responding to my boyfriend lately. I don't want anything to do with sex, and I just feel hurt and disapointed that I am not able to give that kind of intimacy to him. He seems understanding, but I feel the definite strain on our relationship because of this, because I feel really depressed of the situation.
I am at loss, and know I should probably go to my Dr., she is the type of person though who likes to just push pills at you. Any suggestions as to what this might be, cause this is getting really difficult to deal with:(.

Okay, followup to this: http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/8289602.html
Expandfor the lazy )

So I'm still spotting, but it's more like... chunking. I'm passing only large, very dark/black blood clots surround by a bit of red, fresh blood. But the real problem is that I'm not passing most of them. They're just sort of lining up there, filling my vagina, or so I discovered when I did a little spelunking in the shower. When I wipe, there is just a lot of old brown blood, or occationally a disgusting oil slick of black clots.

So, now I'm wondering if I just let my period come, if I try to call my doctor, or if I keep up the BC and brave on through this new and very bumpy chapter of menstruation.

I neglected to mention in my firrst post that I did a quick-start with my BC and just started taking it, because the problem was that I has theoretically missed at least two periods already and there was no telling how long it would be before I got one to start on.

Does anyone else find that their vagina gets dry when they ride a motorcycle? My eyes either get dry or water like nuts, but they have wind whipping around my sunglasses. My crotch is totally blocked as I just ride on the back. I've found that my whole vulva-vaginal region can get dry, but the worst is right around the opening. And sometimes, once in a while, when I've got the right combination of undies, pants and angle, I actually get pretty wet from the vibration ;)

Anyway, has anyone else expereinced this? Maybe during horseback riding or any other activity where you straddle something? Does anyone know of a remedy? I don't like a lot of products down there, but maybe some astroglide would help???

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have had to come off of Depo-Provera because I'm afraid that it isn't working as well as it was. So rather than stay on it, not have periods, and risk becoming pregnant because I don't know if the damn stuff is working, I've gone back on the pill.

I was going to buy Instead Cups today because I remembered that I had read a post here recently and some of you said that you just rinsed out your cup and used it again. Only thing is, I read on the box that you're not supposed to reuse them. Does it really matter that much? Has anyone had any problems using one for a whole period?

Thanks in advance!

I just have a quick question.

I'm on the pill and every month my period comes on Saturday (my first pill of the week being Wednesday for me). Last month I skipped my period with my pill, which I have done before but I haven't recently.

Today is Saturday and my period is a no show. I missed two pills this month, which is rare for me, but I feel it is worth mentioning.

Is it just taking a little longer because I skipped last time? Or what? At what point (after how many days without it) should I be concerned?

I'm staying very calm right now because I haven't had sex since about June 24th and I didn't miss the pills until after I stopped having sex (long distance relationship and I left his house June 26th). Also, during sex he pulls out every time, so I figure in conjuction with the perfect use of pill (yeah, I never forget it when I'm around him, I just lose track of time alone at my house during the summer), we're pretty damn covered.

EDIT

I was poking around down there and there's stringy white stuff that seems to me what the uterus lining usually looks like without the blood in it. Any insight on that?

You know, I've looked into all the ups and downs of cervical mucous and its relation to your fertility, but I have never ever seen anyone even begin to comment on this:

What does your cervical mucous look like when you're pregnant??

(x-posted from my own journal, [livejournal.com profile] menstrual_cups and [livejournal.com profile] vaginapagina)

When I woke up today and I really had to pee. So I went to pee. But after I peed, I still felt weird. Uncomfortable but not in pain. But as the hour wore on, it got more and more uncomfortable and I finally figured out that my cervix was suctioned onto my DivaCup because my cervix is incredibly low for some reason (so low that I can touch it by putting a finger in there up to the first knuckle, so about an inch in).

I wasn't too uncomfortable yet though, just really twingy and sitting was uncomfortable. But then I started getting cramping on my cervix, as if my cervix itself was cramping. This hurt a lot and freaked me out, and I was talking to my boyfriend on AIM at the time and he called me to try and calm me down. But it wasn't working and it was just getting terrible, so he hung up with me and called my little sister's cell phone to tell her that I needed to borrow a pad. So she brought me one and I fought the pain to get the cup out and put the pad on.

But the pain kept getting worse and wrose and soon I was feeling the cramping all over my body, not just my cervix, and my clitoris was in pain, and so were both sets of my labia were throbing as well, and my stomach was becoming upset. Apparently during all of this, I just started screaming for two minutes, but I don't remember it, my boyfriend told me about it later, after I'd settled down and the pain went away -- which took half a hour after the pad was on.

So. Yeah. My reproductive system tried to kill me and if that's what labour feels like, I'm NEVER going through it! And currently I'm rather wiped out, even though I took a half hour nap.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I lost my virginity a couple of months ago. My first time was very difficult and things haven't got any easier since. Every time my boyfriend and I have sex it is painful for me and my skin, especially at the bottom edge of my vagina, is inflamed afterwards.

ExpandThe gory details )

What I want to know is, has anyone had a problem like this? If so what did you do about it? I didn't even realise sex could be so difficult. It's puting a big strain on my relationship with my boy and I'm feeling really confused and depressed about it.

I'm a first time poster with a couple quetions, but I'll give you some background information first.

I'm an 18 year old female from New York. I became sexually active about 3 months ago and had intercourse for the first time on June 19th. My boyfriend has had sex with 4 other people (all men), and had never used a condom before he had sex with me. He had blood tests done recently and they came back okay. I've never seen an OBGYN, but I've never had a problem before now.

So for the past week or so I've had a really obnoxious soreness and itching in my inner labia. It didn't hurt to pee, but my entire crotch area was sore. I had a really strange discharge, and it smelled different than it usually did. I ignored it for a couple days. I sometimes get rashes with weird discharge on the insides of my upper thighs from chaffing that are similar to what I thought this was like, so I thought it would just go away like the other ones did. I went through the archives of this community last night and realized that I had most of the symptoms of a yeast infection. I called my mother (who moved to South Carolina on Tuesday), and she told me to go to RiteAid and pick up a Monistat 1 day pack with the anti-itching cream. I inserted the Ovule and applied the cream all as directed right after my shower at around noon, and it did feel better. About 2 hours after I did the whole thing, my friends and I went to the Phil Lesh and Friends concert. It's a considerable drive from where I live, so I peed before I left. It burned to pee around the area of my vagina. About 20 minutes later (half-way through the drive) I got a very intense burning sensation all around my inner labia and inside my vagina. I stopped at a gas station and went to the bathroom, and it burned to pee and then it was very painful to wipe. It got pretty bad, but as the day wore on, it seemed to go away. Now (10 hours later) it feels pretty normal, but since about 7 PM I've had the feeling like there was something inside my vagina. It almost feels like I have an improperly inserted tampon in. If I push like I'm going to poop or something, I can feel somethin moving. It may be just the walls of my vagina rubbing together (I also got really dry), but it's a very strange sensation.

My questions are:
1. Is the burning in my cooter normal?
2. Is the feeling of something being insid me normal?
3. Should I go to my local OBGYN about this?
4. Could walking around for a week with a yeast infection or improperly diagnosing something else as a YI and trying to treat it as if it was one possibly cause me to be infertile?
5. Should my guy go to his doctor and make sure he doesn't have something? We used condoms, but we're both real paranoid.

Thanks!!!

However, enough is known to show that BV is associated with having a new sex partner or having multiple sex partners. It is seldom found in women who have never had intercourse.

how true is this?
