Painful labia

I read through the archives and couldnt find the exact answer I was looking for about this...


Im on Augmentin right now (antibiotic) for strep throat (this is my second course of antibiotics) and its caused my labia to be very sore/itchy/irritated. Its not a yeast infection, its just incredibly irritating.


What can I use to help alleviate the itch/pain? Can I use an OTC cream or something until Im done with my meds? I wasn't sure if there was something that was out there for non-yeast infection problems.

I am only on these for a few more days, so making a dr appointment is pointless, since I will be done with the medicine by the time i see him.

normal clitoris size

Hi,

I'm new here and have a question regarding clitoris size. I'm 18 years old and am worried that my clitoris is too big. When I push the hood back all the way, it's just about the size of a pea. Would this be considered a normal or average size? One reason why I've been stressing about it is because my testosterone levels have always tended to be on the higher range of normal, (I do NOT have PCOS, though, as that has been confirmed by several gynos and an endo) and I'm wondering if they may have caused it to enlarge at all. Any information would really be appreciated. Thanks so much.

antibiotics

Okay so i am panicing. I know that antibiotics affect birth control. Im currently on tri nessa and i start my placebos next sunday. I was on amoxicillin for a week and my last day was thursday. We didnt have sex that whole week because i am paranoid. Last night we had sex. Last night the condom slipped off. Go figure... what luck i have. Most of the sperm stayed inside the condom. It slipped off when he went to pull out. Im so paranoid. How long does the antibiotic affect my bitrht control. Do you guys think im okay? I have a set of morning after left over should i take that just in case. Im so scared.

Fistula?

Hi ladies, have any of you ever had a fistula? Lately my colon has been highly unkind to me, and after having a bowel movement last night I felt an extremely sharp pain in my vagina, close to my rectum. I know it isn't a rectal tear or fissure, because I've had those before and this pain is definitely is in my vagina. Perhaps I just strained the muscle, but I am still extremely sore today. Any recommendations to what I can do for this?

I've got a pap smear and a G/C test coming up tomorrow to prepare for my IUD insertion, I've been googling to find out how soon before I have to abstain and the consensus seems to be I shouldn't have sex right now. (Because it might give me a false positive result due to cervical irritation.) But I have a hazy memory of hearing that that was incorrect and it's totally okay and won't have any effect on the tests. Maybe this is only wishful thinking, does anyone know for sure?

(Also, since oral sex isn't okay, that would probably mean masturbation isn't okay, and that's totally confounding. I'm sure I've masturbated within 48 hours of an exam before and I have no idea how that would tamper with the results.)

swollen painful labia

Oh vagina woes, yet again. I was fingered sort of a lot over the weekend and today my inner labia feel kind of swollen and very irritated. I know it's probably just from over-stimulation, but do you ladies have any tips or tricks on how to alleviate the nagging so walking around and such doesnt bother me so terribly?

IUD and planned parenthood

i've decided to get an IUD (either Mirena or Paraguard), and i'd like to go to planned parenthood. i don't have an obgyn (no health insurance), and this is where i go for all my female health type needs. i'm 21 and have had no children.

my question: Will they hassle me about it, or refuse to give it to me. I've heard from other people, mostly in this community, that planned parenthood can hard to deal with sometimes regurading IUDs and young/childless women.
I don't know if this impacts anything, but i've also considered getting an IUD for relief of my endo symptoms.

they've been jerks to me about many issues in the past, and i don't want to have to fight for my right to make a choice about my body.(ex. when i had to cancel my pap appt. because of spotting they refused to give me birth control to tide me over until my next appt. i had to practically get on my knees and beg before they would do it).

any body have an experience to share?
any one get an IUD at planned parenthood w/o a major hassle?

I'm about to trim my "area" in a minute. I think I have a big job ahead of me because that area has been neglected for about 4 months now. I always (well not always) let it go when I don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend. It happens when a big break up happens. Maybe it's due to depression or something... I feel like a frigid virgin all over again, because out of a relationship, I'm not very sexual, so I kind of let everything.... grow?

Anyone else notice this about themselves too?

As of late I've become terribly ill. I have a barely existant immune system and now I have a horribly sore throat to where I cannot talk or barely eat/drink, I cant breathe from stuffyness, I have a constant headache, I cant seem to stop coughing violently, and my eyes and ears hurt.

But with this, I've noticed that my "scent" has seemed to have changed as well. Not just "down there" either, in general. And the change isn't a good thing at all, I'm quite alarmed. I've noticed this also with my former sickness happenings, so my question is: Is this normal and has anyone else experienced this?

I need some advice/Help for my mom...

Currently, my mother is having severe problems and I'm concerned that her doctor is not taking this a seriously as she should be and I wanted to bounce this off the group, to see if anyone had heard of similar conditions and thoughts of what could be causing it and/or what should be done. remember those 3 little bumps i told you about? well those are fine & they are healing [ knock on wood ] but inbetween them..are a few [ like 5 ] tiny little bumps..& it looks like if i pushed on them..puss or something would come out..like barely anything. they could possibly bleed they are so small lol. but i was just wondering what you think i could do? or if this is a sign of something else?

Body Bare Shaver

I've heard the Body Bare shaver mentioned here a few times and I've read a couple of reviews that sounded good, but I was wondering if anyone in this community has had a personal experience using one.

I'm saving up some money so I can have laser treatments done but until then, I still have to shave. The last time I was cleaning up down there, I cut my labia rather badly and I'm tired of this sort of thing. From the reviews I've read, the Body Bare sounds like what I'm looking for but I'm a bit skeptical.

So please, if there's anyone out there that has used it personally, let me know what your experience was. I just want to make sure that it actually gives the results they claim it does - completely bare and little to no irritation. I really don't want to waste $60 that I could put towards my laser treatments if it's going to turn out to be a bust.

discharge or semen?!

so I have been dischargey for the last two days, just the normal sticky stuff. My boyfriend and I had sex twice tonight. Once with a condom, and then again without a condom but he pulled out(okay, and I know that was stupid). Anyway, I'm very familiar with the jizz drip once you stand up after having sex. Tonight I kind had air up there, so I got rid of that, and then maybe 5 minutes after I had been walking around (I was doing laundry)(probably about 15 minutes after he had pulled out) I felt something VERY sticky and moist in my underwear.

I went to the bathroom to check, and it was very sticky, very clear. It was so sticky that I could peel it off my underwear in a film. This is probably vaginal discharge, right? 10-15 minutes after ejaculation, semen whould have liquidfied. Well, thats usually how it is, I've had sex with him without a condom before (I was on the pill back then), so I know how it reacts while inside me.

I guess this is more of a way to reassure myself than to really ask for advice. I'm concerned about the hassle of getting emergency conception (but hassle that's worth it, if needed), so I thought that I'd ask you guys.
still substantial/concentrated semen 20 minutes afterwards? or very sticky goopy discharge?

edit, I probably should mention that I think I'm ovulating right about now. =(

Possible UTI?

I've been having urgency to urinate on and off for the last couple of weeks, but it doesn't burn when I pee, so I didn't think it was a UTI. More often then not, what comes out is just a little bit, but there's pressure on my bladder as if there's alot there. Does anyone know what's going on?
