Well, imagine you had just bought a magazine. Its got a little sachet of SomeNewProduct glued into it.

You know that rubbery glue they use to stick those things in?

Thats what my period blood has been like this month. But more red. Great big globs of red rubbery-glue blood.

Im not worried by this, just curious.

Has anyone else had blood like this?

Hi, I'm hoping to talk to people who have undergone Female Sterilization. (I'm talking tubes tied / cut here NOT Hysterectomy). Did you have any unwanted side effects?
I am 34 I have known I do not want children since the age of 12... I had to wait to be sterilized until my 30's as doctors don't believe you know what you want until then.

I can get it done now, but when I told my Mum and her best friend they talked me out of it, they both said they'd had side-effects that docs never warned them of.
Namely:
Attrociously heavy bleeding at Period times
Debilitating menstrual cramps

I get both of these things already... I am afraid it will get worse, if it gets any worse I'd have to take time off work every month LOL erm... not good.

Also, I got prescribed The Pill due to having a 21 day cycle since age 11.
7 day long heavy periods and only getting 14 days rest in between them.
Now I get 21 days of rest like I should, my periods are still heavy though, and I feel nauseous for 12 hours after taking every pill, even on a full stomach.

Has anyone else tried SEVERAL different B/C pills over a couple of years and not been able to find a single one that doesn't make them feel horribly nauseous? Did you find one eventually?

thanks!

Dear Period

Dear period,
I have been waiting for you for 3 months, and you still have not graced me with your presence. I am not pregnant, so where are you? I have taken my OTC lo everday at the same time and still have not yet seen you. This not knowing when you are coming thing is getting very old. If you do not come soon, I will be very angry... you don't want to make me angry do you?
Sincerly,
Me

I went through the memories but couldn't find anything related to this but I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before. My inner labia lips feel extremely dry. Is there anything safe enough to put on there to relieve them? Also does anyone have any idea as to what could cause it? Is douching a factor?

I decided to give my vibrator one more venture before I disposed of it and I didn't feel like cleaning it beforehand so I grabbed a condom. I used it for no more than 2 minutes (mostly non-vaginally) and as I finished I realized the condom had broke in those few moments. I am glad I wasn't using the condom for its actual usage...luckily I am throwing the condoms out too!

POPs?

I think I may start looking into progestin-only pills.
I'm currently on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo.
I have had some problems with BC in the past.
Last fall, I was on Yasmin for only two months. After about 1 month, I was irritated all the time, withdrew socially, had huge anger problems, etc. I stopped taking it after two months because of these problems.
For the past few months, I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I'm partially on BC for the birth control part, and partially because I tend to get really bad cramps and pain during sex. Yasmin helped with cramps but the mood problems were too much. On OTC-Lo, my cramps are just as bad (at this point I've given up and simply devoted my life to Advil), my moods are only slightly worse than they were on Yasmin (but they might be better simply because I'm also on an anti-depressant now), and I've gained 10 lbs.
So here's the thing:
OTC-Lo is NOT helping with cramps.
OTC-Lo has made me a little crabbier than usual (my boyfriend has noticed).
OTC-Lo has made me gain weight. This upsets me, since it moved my BMI from the "average" range to the "overweight" range.
I have given up on taking pills to help with cramps. I can take painkillers and deal. I've been doing it for 6 years now, no big deal.
I would stop taking BC, but my boyfriend would feel more comfortable if I were on some kind of BC. So would I. We always use condoms, but would like at least 2 methods to be safe.

I want to know if POPs will not make me crazy and moody.
I want the birth control without the being upset all the time thing.
I'm no longer worried about cramps or pain during sex (this is something that needs to be looked into more and not treated with BC).
I want to know if POPs will make me gain weight.
At this point, I only want the birth-control aspect. I think I've made myself clear. If not, let me know and I'll elaborate.
Is this something worth looking into?

Thanks in advance!

1. My doctor just gave me a prescription for Alesse. She didn't really help with the decision process (seeing as there are so many different types out there) so I hinted that most of my friends are taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen. She said that she usually prescribes Alesse, which is lower dosage? So I ended up going with it.

Alesse does a lot of commercials (I'm not sure about the US, but in Canada there's tons of ads and commercials for it) but I am not sure how good it is? Has anyone been on this before? I know effects are different for everyone, but any side-effects you've experienced with this?

And if you have tried both OTC and Alesse, which do you like better?

2. I know some people who have PCOS and have learned that it is actually more common than I thought. I remember reading a list of symptoms and they included things like irregular and heavy periods, thinning hair, acne, and skin discoloration in certain areas which I have to a degree. I asked my doctor about it, asking about what it was and she told me I don't have it. Because people who usually have it are overweight and have lots of body/facial hair. But everyone I know who DOES have this are the opposite. I don't know I have it, I just want to make sure I DON'T and she seemed to have just determined instantaneously that it's a negative.

Hello, I just joined so I decided to give a post here. I've read everything and I'm quite impressed.

But I have a question:

I recently stopped taking Birth Control that I originally took to balance my crazy period cycle because it so expensive; and because my mother and I are on the low budget side right now. I decided to give her a break and stop taking it. Well it's been almost four months since I stopped taking it and I've yet to have my period. It's like my body is automatically going back to how it was: Skipping large numbers of months at a time and when I do get it, lasting almost two weeks. About a week ago I noticed darker discharge happening and I was actually relieved, thinking my period was going to happen. Well, I discharged for about two more days... and then it stopped. No period, no more discharge. Does anyone know what's going on with that?

I asked my mother that possibly for X-mas to get me back on BC and originally I went to a Woman's Center but now we may need to go to the Health Department. Is it true they give out free birth control and/or cheaper? I've noticed also that with stopping I've had increased acne and I've been much more moody.

Thank you!
~

Alrighty.
This guy friend of mine and myself fooled around today at his place. Pretty much what happened, was he kept trying and trying to go inside me, but it was hurting me (I have never had sex before). I was very tight and he was very large. Yea, he was huge. Okay, so we tried this for quite some time, every position possible... and he finally got in me. Or so he said. I couldn't really tell. It still hurt just like before, so I couldn't tell if he was 'inside' or not. He was doing it from behind... and I told him I didn't want to fuck him, like I didn't want him to be my first and he said this wasn't fucking because he wasn't going to cum inside me. And sticking to his word, when he was about to cum, he came out of me and came on the bed. But the timing was pretty close and I was still facing the other way so I couldn't tell if he had actually gotten it out in time or not... Then yadda yadda... I came home, and I was bleeding a little bit, but not a whole lot. So, I guess my hymen (or however you spell it) broke.
I guess what my question is, is:

-If he didn't cum inside me, is that still considered sex or no?
-Is it considered sex if your hymen is broken?
-Should I be concerned about the possibility of being pregnant?

sexual intercourse
n.
Coitus between humans.
Sexual union between humans involving genital contact other than vaginal penetration by the penis

-Also, can someone define "vaginal penetration" for me? I am a bit confused...

Thanks a bunch in advance!

I've never had any problems with tampons. Until now. I'm on the 3rd day of my period, it's surprisingly heavy (I'm on Tri-Cyclen Lo and it should be almost-done within 3 days). And I have to wear pads instead of tampons because tampons hurt. I find it rather hard to get in since I feel very tight. Plus, taking the tampon out hurts, and as wear it the tampon moves down (I'm not sure how else to articulate it). Has anyone else has this problem before? What could it be? It's just that it's never happened to me so I'm rather puzzled as to what's going on.

Thanks. :)

HI, I just had unprotected sex a few hours ago, which would be all good except I haven't been taking my pills right AT ALL this past week (I just started a new job), I've taken ALL of them, just at random times. I know this puts me at risk of pregnancy.

Now, right now I take Necon 1/35 (generic for ortho novum 1/35) as my regular pill. However, I have 3 packs of Aviane (the generic for Alesse), which I know can be used for emergency contraception.

My question is if I take the Aviane ones as emergency contraception, do I still take my regular birth control pill at my "usual" time?

Thank you =)

Hi Ladies:
I want to start by saying that I definitely plan to see a doctor about this. Since, in all likelihood, I will not be able to see a doctor until Monday at the earliest, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any insight.

I haven't had my period since October 12th. I took a couple of pregnancy tests in November (and then a blood pregnancy test) and was scheduled to get an ultrasound when I started spotting. Thinking that my period had started, I cancelled the appointment. Turns out my period hadn't started at all--and the next two pregnancy tests I took (stick tests) were inconclusive.

Jump forward to this past week: on three seperate occasions I got a fever. Another day I had overwhelming nausea that sent me home from work. Then today I finally got my period--or so I think. I'm bleeding very heavily, and the blood is a completely different consistency than what I'm used to. Here's the especially weird part: when attempting to insert a tampon, I got about 1/2 of the way in when the pain was suddenly excruciating. The swelling throughout my abdomen (especially on my right side) is intense and painful. It varies between somewhat sore and sharp and shooting. Is it possible that I had a cyst, and it burst? Thoughts?

Thanks for any and all advice/help.
