birth control woes...

hey ladies. very quick question. tomorrow is my last pill before i start my placebo weeks. i want to delay my period for one week. i could totally handle having it next week, but not this upcoming one. is it possible that i could go ahead and start the new pack of pills for one week and then go back to the placebos from the last pack when the week is over? and then go ahead and take the next two weeks of pills before encountering the placebo weeks of the new pack.

does that make sense at all?

i would go ahead and just continue on with the new pack, however, my last experience at trying to skip my period compeltely ended up with me having a 2 1/2 week period right in the middle of my pack (and seemingly in the middle of my cycle).

has anyone ever used the birth control modi con?

I missed one pill this weekend, and I took it the next day with the regular pill for that day and now I am bleeding really heavy with lots of tissue discharge. this always happens to me, If I forget to take a pill for even one day I'll start bleeding for 2 weeks. does anyone think this is a cause or concern? or anyone have a similar situation? i know i should go to the gyno but it's so hard with school, interning, and working.

I keep reading comments about eating yogurt, or applying it,
when you have a yeast infection.

but what kind of yogurt?
is there a certain brand, or a certain flavor?
ha, I don't wanna be rubbing raspberry yogurt on my vagina if it's going to cause irritation or not work!!

and can yogurt be applied to just external itching?

preventing yeast infection on antibiotics

i'm on antibiotics for a uti and i don't want to get a yeast infection like i did the last time. my gyn gave me the same antibiotics as last time saying "you can't avoid it" and he already gave me medication for the yeastie that will come.

but i don't know... i'd like to prevent it.

now, here in germany i can't get ahold of acidophilus capsules - believe me, i tried!
so, will eating yoghurt and applying yoghurt to vulva and vagina (not very much, though, because i haven't found an effective way to do it yet) every night be okay? should i do that as long as i take the antibiotics or longer? i have an appointment with my gyn on monday, to check for the uti again and i guess he wouldn't like to see yoghurt there ;))

btw, i'm familiar with most sites about YI's but they don't talk about preventng them (except maybe with the acidophilus...)

getting the Pill as a minor

I'm fifteen. My boyfriend is seventeen. Things are getting increasingly physical between us.

Anyone see where this is going?

Even though we haven't talked about sex yet, we've gotten pretty close to it and I'd like to take a pre-emptive strike. Point is, I need the Pill. How do you go about doing this when you're fifteen and there's no way your parents can find out? And you don't have any method of transportation? And you're just really, really confused?

I've already checked out plannedparenthood.com but I'm still unsure of things. Can anyone offer some advice? I'd really appreciate it... this community is truly awesome, and the first place I thought of when I needed help.

Condom Survey

Not about our vaginas per se, but vaginas are a sort of receptacle for the condom, after a fashion. I'm interested in condom use as it pertains to this community (and beyond, if anyone wants to forward the link on) so I've created a Zoomerang survey on the subject.

The survey is completely anonymous - it does not ask for your name, e-mail address, or report your IP address. I'd like for anyone who is or has ever been sexually active to take the survey. I can post the results here in a week or two, if anyone's interested in them.

Since I'm no longer having sex, haven't since June and aren't planning on it anytime soon, I decided to stack my Yasmin BC and skip my period this month. So instead of taking a week off of my pills (during the placebo week) like usual, I jumped right into a new pack. I'm on day 5 of the new pack and lo and behold, I get my period. Super pissed? Yes, and I'm usually the kind to enjoy my period because it makes me feel more feminine.

So here's my question: Did I just totally screw up my cycle? Will my period now come on the first week of my pack or will it come back on the placebo week like normal?

I'm working on a small art project involving different women's feelings about their menstrual cycles. I'd be extremely grateful if you girls would tell me one word that describes your period(I think mine would be "magnificent" or "splendor" though I'm not quite sure yet. :) or what it means to you, whether positive, negative or somewhere in between. Thanks a bunch! :D

vampire plants?

Ok, so I have my moon cup, and my period is quickly approaching.
Which mean in less than I week I'll be having cups full of menstrual blood to mess around with.

I keep reading here about using menstrual fluid mixed with water for house plants.

And I was wondering, what ratio do you usually use? And how beneficial is it? Has anybody actually seen a marked improvement in their plants after using it?
And what kind of container should I use? I don't think my grandmother would approve of me getting blood stains on the inside of her fav. watering can.
