Hewwo everyone. There might be some TMIs here but I don't know how to use a cut when I'm posting from my phone. :/
I posted about a week ago about what I thought was a yeast infection. I went to the dr and got it all cleared up.
Well, last night I had sex for the first time in 2 weeks. I woke up this morning and had horrible itching, pain, and swelling around my vaginal entrance. I had these little patches of irritated skin that I thought were from the yeast infection, but this morning the existing ones were worse and more had appeared.
Herpes was the first thing to come to my mind, but I really don't have blisters. It looks like the skin got rubbed off somehow. I don't have any odd discharge or smells either.
I've never been allergic to anything, but could this be an allergic reaction of some sort? We didn't use lube last night, but I did use my Trojan Triphoria vibrator. I can't think of anything else it could be.
Also, is there anything I can put right on my vaginal entrance to help with the itching and pain? I use Calmoseptine in the other places, but it has glycerin in it.
Thanx in advance for the help!

Date: 2012-08-18 01:35 am (UTC)The first thing that comes to my mind is-- were you using condoms? Because if you were, and if they were latex ones, and/or if your vibrator contains rubber latex, you could have developed an allergy to the rubber latex. Those can come on rather suddenly, and if a person is going to be allergic to latex, the allergy takes a while to appear-- the effect of the latex is cumulative, so the more exposure you get the worse the allergy becomes. I know because I became most painfully allergic to latex from condoms-- constant itching, pain, and a horrible feeling of both itching there and up inside me, and an even more horrible feeling of having multiple cuts at my vaginal entrance. I never did look to see what this irritation looked like, though!
If condoms are something you use, try non-latex (polyisoprene) ones. They are relatively common-- can be found at most chain drugstores-- and are clearly labeled.
There is a cream for vaginal itching and irritation usually used for alleviating the pain of a yeast infection-- it's called Vagisil, I think, and it's common in drugstores. That will hopefully help you! Also, there were 2 things that helped me when I was going through the long and painful process of figuring out I was allergic to latex-- a homeopathic soothing gel called "Califlora" (made by Boericke and Tafel), and aloe gel with a drop or two of lavender and tea tree essential oils added to it.
I hope you figure this out soon! If it doesn't go away in the next couple days, please see your gynecologist!
