Something I came across today on Healthbords was the idea that vibrators can desensitize you to other forms of stimulation, I can see how it can be true because often I find nothing happens if I have been using a vibrator too often, my vulva and my hand goes numb and using my hands afterwards doesn't work, but then Healthboards isn't always the best source of information.
So how true is this and do these effects last very long?

I love my vibrator, and I use it regularly - but I also enjoy regular sex and have orgasms with that too. I think it's just a matter of personal flexibility as to what kind of stimulation you prefer or how often you want it. Like, if I orgasm regularly for a while, it's different than if I have no stimulation for a few days - neither is better, but the sensations are different and do different things. Does that make sense?
