Hey ladies,
I've been having an issue getting yeast infections because I'm taking antibiotics for my face. I get a YI a few days before my period starts and it's getting really annoying. I've just started taking acidophilus lately and it's helped a lot, I'm just wondering if there's a way to make them not happen at all while I'm taking my antibiotics? Also, when I get a yeast infection around the time of my period, can I treat it without it coming back during the same week if my hormones are still high?
Help!

Acidophilus supplementation is great, I'd also recommend treating vaginally (Monistat-7 is the gold standard, you could also try yogurt, garlic, or boric acid as outlined in the YI wiki on the sidebar). Certainly it'll be important to wear cotton underwear, avoid moist clothing (swimsuits are a big one), avoid sexual contact while you're symptomatic and for at least a week after symptoms resolve.
And of course, if your symptoms don't resolve after treatment or if they change and don't seem YI-like, seeing a medical provider who can help you diagnose and treat what's going on is a great idea.
Feel better soon!
