The truth is, that it is no more "rare" than certain forms of cancer and AIDS.

Tampons are typically manufactured from rayon. There is a risk of rayon fibres being absorbed into the vaginal walls. Tampons may also expose you to absorbency gels, bleach, and chemicals such as chlorine. Chlorine can cause the production of dioxins, a potent carcinogen (cancer causing agent).

of course, you could always believe the tripe that the FDA wants you to believe. it's an american governmental organization; i don't believe a word.

(probably men or women secretly using luna pads) telling you it is alright? They are considered a luxury!!! I would figure that such products (not the horrid toxic kind) should be considered a necessity. I don't know everything yet, but i have put a lot of effort into this cos. I put up posts on many communities and received great responses. This is our life, our bodies, we need to take care of them. Even if we were not taking health into this at all, there is still the environmental issue. The waste from these so-called "safe" products is rapidly filling up landfills. We are wasteful enough in our country..most countries don't even have the "luxury" of disposable pads. They live without them so can we. I know that i would puke before i would use a "toxic"pad again. Your vaginal health isnt worth the risks...read It's your Own fucking body...RECLAIM YOUR CUNT! EMBRASS IT...DONT HIDE FROM NATURE!

*shrug* if you wish to, good and fine. i don't use tampons much just becuase they dry me out; i use pads and/or Instead... but i know plenty of people who are perfectly happy with tampons. their choice; so long as they are educated that they need to watch out for tss symptoms i see no problem. (like i said above: even if only 1/10 of the cases are diagnosed, it's still incredibly rare; problems like car accidents kill far more people, percentage-wise, yet we don't stop buying cars nor does anyone really say "the government should make cars illegal"... just say "try to make them safer and make people use them in a safe manner, and make emergency care available." why? because so many people need to use them and use them in a safe manner...)...
