So, this has been happening for some time. Whenever I get aroused, I get these shooting pains in my vagina. It isn't bad enough to stop, and it has nothing to do with whether I'm being touched or not. I sort of associate them with producing lubrication, but I'm not sure. I see a pelvic pain specialist for vaginismus, and I mentioned it to her, but she didn't really address it.

Me:
21, dating one man for the past six years
I got Mirena about 4 months ago, but this happened before that
I have zero risk for STDs
I have vaginismus

So, what's up? I would really like for this to stop happening.

I get this feeling too, but I think like you that it's associated with producing lubrication. If it's not too cumbersome, I'd say just try and get used to it. I actually am sometimes grateful for the feeling, because then I know I'm wet enough to continue sexual activities. However, if it's an incredible pain you have trouble getting over, I'd make sure your doctor understands your problem. :/

Woah, I was just thinking of posting a question about this recently. I too have vaginismus, and I've gotten that weird shooting sensation (I wouldn't quite call it pain, just an odd feeling) in one side of my vagina. I'm guessing it has something to do with the vestibular glands on that side, but I don't have VVS (as far as I know) so I don't have any further idea why it's happening, though.

I'm in a LDR, and I tend to get that feeling when we start our first intimate moment upon seeing on another again.

It feels very odd, like there's a vacuum inside of me, and it's tightening up from the inside. After being touched, the sensation goes away.

Mine are kind of like a burning pain; I was starting to think I was allergic to my own wetness or something.

When I asked a doctor about it he theorized that for me it likely had to do with my endometriosis and the bloodflow to the area; like the sudden bloodflow and swelling would pull on my adhesions, thus causing the pain. It typically happens for me most often after my period.

I don't know if this helps or not. Maybe it's a similar bloodflow/engorgement issue?
