Alright, VPers. I have a dilemma and the timing couldn't be worse.
I currently take Yaz, and have been on it since August. I've never missed a pill and am late with them very rarely [even then, only by about an hour]. My periods usually start within the placebo days, but they've been getting progressively later and later [supposed to start on Sunday, but usually don't start until late Tuesday/early Wednesday, and I'm supposed to start my new pack on Thursday].
I'm currently in a monogamous relationship with my boyfriend of 7 months. Yaz is our only form of pregnancy prevention, but since I take it almost perfectly, we've been fine so far.
For about the past week, I've had constant spotting. Not enough to merit wearing a tampon, but enough that I am changing pantyliners about every two hours. The blood ranges from shades of brown, reddish brown, to the actual period blood color. I am expecting to start my placebo pills on Sunday with the expectation that my period will come, yet again, about Wednesday. I took a pregnancy test literally 10 minutes ago [Clear Blue Easy Digital Readout] and it was negative.
For the record, it is a rather stressful time for me because my boyfriend's about to take his leave to Wisconsin for two weeks and then go on a deployment to Japan for a rather lengthy period of time. I'm crying a lot [I normally only cry right before my period], having a severe craving for bacon and egg taquitos from a local Mexican restaurant, and not wanting to smoke cigarettes at ALL [I usually smoke about half a pack a day]. Needless to say, I'm under quite a bit of stress -- however, my usual stressing delays my period rather than incites it.
So, yeah. Stress on top of being scared out of my life that I'm pregnant just as my boyfriend's about to be gone for three years is not very fun :[ Would it be in my best interest to wait until Sunday to take the other test in my two-pack, seeing as my periods are kind of acting funny lately? If I'm not pregnant but still bleeding funny, what are some possibilities as to what's causing this? I Googled "not pregnant but spotting" but only found people asking my same questions :/

Date: 2009-04-29 12:16 am (UTC)However, pregnancy on the pill is rare. Spotting on the pill is common. Odds are that you're fine, and just reacting to the stress with the emotional issues, and maybe your body's decided to act weird and interact with the pill weirdly this time around.
I'd try to wait at least a week to use the other pregnancy-test.
Good luck! Having your boyfriend absent for three years sounds like No Fun. O:(
