Untreated BV?

I'm just curious, does anything bad happen if you don't treat BV? The only time I've ever had it, I barely knew anything was wrong. So, if it can go away on it's own, that'd be nice. I realize there are home remedies and such, but there wouldn't be much point for me, if I can barely tell I have an infection in the first place.

Unlike a YI, BV does not have any effective home remedies that I am aware of.

BV can actually be treated with boric acid in the same way as a YI. :)
