I've read a lot about using hormonal birth control to skip a period, but I still have a question.

I'm interested in moving my period by 2 weeks so I can spend my whole Christmas break with my boyfriend.  I take Femcon FE which is a monophasic pill.  Instead of just skipping the placebo week and taking the entire next pack, can I take only 2 weeks of the next pack?  This would mean I would take 5 weeks of active pills before taking a week of inactive pills, and then continuing to take it normally.  Would this be more confusing to my body than 6 weeks of active pills?  It seems to me like it shouldn't matter, but am I wrong?

I know about using back up contraceptives and the risk of spotting.  Thanks to everyone for your help.

Id just go for 6 weeks, the 5 weeks sounds confusing as far as pill taking goes.

I really don't think it would matter if you took five weeks of pills straight and then breaked for a week. Pretty much, as long as you take 21+ pills straight, and your break is 7 days or less, you're good to go. And this way you can keep the extra week of pills around for when you need them (pushing your period around again, dropping/losing a pill, whatever).
