I'm having a difficult time finding legitimate advice on the internet about a very "sensitive" problem I'm having...

For the last seven years I'd only ever been with one man - he is now 37 years old. We broke things off and were seeing other people for nearly a year. In that time, I took up with a 23 year old man. It was the best sex of my life! Never before had I had an orgasm during intercourse.

Long story short, I am now back with My Old Man (and happy as a lark). However, I've noticed that in comparison to my 23 year old partner, my "Old Man" doesn't seem to get as erect. He can certainly achieve an erection, but it doesn't feel as - hard.

I'd mentioned my conundrum to my doctor (a man of similar age - 40). He insists that it is age related. As he is not a urologist, he was unable to give me advice on how to help my man achieve a firmer erection.

Help! I'm determined to stay with this man for the rest of my life, but I'd hate to think that at the young age of 24, I'll be missing out on amazing sex - for the rest of my life!

Thanks in advance for any advice you ladies can impart!

If the spongy tissue anywhere in the penis got damaged, it could affect the quality of the erection, yes. (Or the valves which keep the blood trapped in there, for that matter.)

There's also the chance that he just has a different erection -- have you checked out www.erectionphotos.com? Not safe for work beyond the "you sure you want to look?" page, of course, but very interesting in the range of Normal Erections. There's a chance that the anatomy just isn't going to point the same way as the other fellow's.

Mind, keeping that chance in mind, getting a check-over is unlikely to hurt, may be useful, and as you note below -- better to get blood pressure and other possible "wilters" checked over than to let it go and risk letting an underlying medical condition worsen!
