Ok I just joined because if I don't get some help soon I'm gonna lose my mind. So some back story: I am sexually active but I've been tested and I have no STDs. I do however have cervical dysplasia (had a colposcopy done this summer and I have a mild case.) For the past year I have been having awful problems. Last year I had a horrible infection that took the doctors a few days to figure out what it was. Aparently I had a strep and e. coli infection of the vagina. I was treated for that and didn't have too many more problems for awhile. Well this summer I thought I had another bad infection because I was very sore with a lot of itching. The doctor said she was sure I had an infection just looking at me. Well I didn't... the tests all came back negative. Since then every single month I've had burning and itching. So no STDs, no yeast and no bacterial infection.

I recently went on a new pill (Ortho Tricyclen Lo) because Yaz was making me a depressed mess. I wasn't on anything for 10 days and I just started this pill on Sunday. I basically had my period for a month so I was wearing a pantyliner. Today I had very strange discharge. It was pinkish (mostly clear) but it was an almost sticky, jelly like thick consistency. I'm again all irritated, swollen and itchy. I don't know what to do. The last two tests I had have come back negative for yeast and infection. The doctors aren't helping me. This happens every month. It's so annoying and painful and I need a solution. I don't think its very normal to have this much irritation every single month :(

Thanks for any help in advance

I have had something similar going on for the past five months now. First it was a yeast infection that completely went away. Now they (I've been regularly seeing three different gynos for this problem) don't know what is going on. They've done cultures, checked for STDs, I've gone through multiple swabbings and I still have no answers.

The last time I went to my gyno, she swabbed the discharge and my cervix to check under the microscope. She said there was no evidence of any yeast or infections of any sort but it did look abnormal. I asked for if she could be more specific but the best she was able to offer me was "well, it doesn't look like any sort of STD" (which had already been ruled out two weeks prior. And two months prior to that).

My gyno said to treat it like irritation for the time being. She recommended using Cetaphil when cleaning my lady bits and soaking in a bathtub with about half a cup of baking soda mixed in twice a day until symptoms improved. I have had a good deal of relief (no more weird discharge, not much itching) but on occasion I still have some moderate pain when attempting to insert a tampon or intercourse.

Sorry that I can't offer any insight or advice, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. If you are able to get some answers, please let me know so I can harass my doctors with some ideas. :) And if I get any suggestions or answers, I will of course let you know.

Good luck!
