My Dearest Vulva-Loving Superstars,

As you probably noticed, it's V-Day season, and The Vagina Monologues (VMs) are the most common V-Day event. Due to the sensitive nature of V-Day and the VMs in particular, it is not so unusual that many of us have strong opinions/feelings about the VMs. In the spirit of fostering respectful and non-judgmental dialogue on such things, we wanted to open the floor for general discussion.

Here are some questions to get you thinking:

  • How do you feel about the VMs as a concept? Even if you haven't yet seen/read the VMs, what are your impressions?

  • For those who've attended a VM performance, was there audience participation? What was it like for you?

  • Have you ever participated in the production of a VM performance? What was it like? How did the director(s)/producer(s) frame the process for you?

  • What is your (least) favorite monologue and why?

  • Are the VMs really about vaginas, or is there something else at work?

Of course, as with all things here, we simply ask everyone to keep VP's safe space policy in mind as the conversations bloom. :)

Happy discussing!

My Dearest Vulva-Loving Superstars,

Given that it's V-Day season, we want to know what your V-Day plans are.

Leave a comment and let us know what's up for V-Day where you live. Give us the important information, like where it will be held (country/state/city/venue), the date and time of the event, how much it costs to attend, and perhaps where the profits will be donated. Throw down a link for your event too, if you have one. (If you want to pimp your event further, feel free to make a post over in [livejournal.com profile] vp_bulletins.)

The Vagina Monologues are the most popular V-Day event around the world. Are you part of a VM production this year? If you're performing, which monologue did you get? What's it been like to be a part of the show? (Click here to read about VPers' experiences with past VMs.)

And for the rest of you, have you read or attended a showing of the VMs before? If so, how many times? What did you think of it? What was it like? Do you plan to attend this year?

**V-Day is an international movement to end violence against women and girls. To find out more about V-Day, explore vday.org. To read statistics about violence against women, click here. To search for V-Day events near you, click here.**

Looking forward to your comments. :)

¡Vulva la revolución!
