Hey VPers.

I'm scheduled to have laparoscopic surgery to remove a 6cm cyst on my left ovary in a couple of weeks.

I'm pretty scared. I've never had surgery before. I also have other health issues that make it scary for me and have to talk to my doctor about it. But I just wanted to know who else here has had it done and what for and how did it go?

How long was your procedure and did you go home the same day or did they have to keep you overnight for other reasons?

I'm also scared because they still aren't sure what the cyst is. We know it's complex, but don't know if it's cancer or not. My CA-125 was elevated, which could mean cancer, but the CA-125 test is not all that reliable and could be elevated for other reasons as well. My doctor highly doubts it's cancer but only because of my age; I'm 27.

He hopes he won't have to take anything but the cyst out, but while he's down there, he is also going to explore for endometriosis and other things.

I'm also really scared of anesthesia and being put under. :-\

Just wondering what all of your experiences have been?

Thanks!
