vaginapaginaBased on some fabulous member feedback, we've decided to create a VP waxing directory, in the style and spirit of our already-existent gynecologist directory.
The goal is for this to be a resource VPers can use to find good waxers and aestheticians in their areas. If you have had really positive experiences with yours and would like to recommend her/him, please leave a comment to this post.
For ease of browsing, please put your city (or metro area) and state/province/country in your subject line. This will let folks find local recommendations more quickly.
Then feel free to tell us:
1. Name of the individual or business.
2. How (s)he can be contacted: website, phone number, etc.
3. Prices/ranges: (bikini, Brazilian, etc. -- include what you know)
4. "Bedside manner": How comfortable -- physically and mentally -- is a visit to this person? Friendly? Professional?

3. Brazilian-$50-100, don't know the fees for other services.
4. Christiana's "bedside manner" is the best. Great for people getting this done for the first time, very friendly, puts you at your ease immediately. She really knows what she is doing and provides great instructions for aftercare, other grooming tips, etc. I was so nervous my first time and she made it a great experience. Even though I live in Little Rock now, I can't imagine going to somebody else.
5. Fat positive and GLBT-friendly (salon is owned by a gay man and Christina has many trans-clients). You do not need to have a media-perfect body to have a great, respectful, fun experience.

4. "Bedside manner": Jedidah is so incredibly friendly. Not only is she excellent at what she does, but she makes you feel at ease and comfortable, regardless of whether you've been there or had anything done before. You won't walk out with a crotch that feels like it's on fire, nor will you walk out with no idea of what to do next. Jedidah explains everything you need to know to maintain everything in a simple fashion.
5. Anything else you'd like VPers to know about your waxer: She's absolutely fabulous. I have never felt so comfortable in my life.

3. Prices/ranges: Very cheap as its a training school, brazillian $20 full leg $25 bikini $15, g string $18
4. "Bedside manner": The girls here are soo friendly and approachable, it is a training school hence the cheapness of it but very profesional atmosphere is great
5. Anything else you'd like VPers to know about your waxer: Just be aware that it IS a training school majority of the girls there that do things like brazillians are in their final 6months of training and are pretty experienced, you do have to sign a disclaimer as well.

I honestly cannot remember prices for the life of me its been awhile since I went there
The waxer there is brilliant she's really friendly easy to chat to and is a wealth of knowledge
They have a VIP program going that costs I think about $20 to join but then you get cheaper prices on all their services, this is the beautitian I used when I lived in bendigo they were great.

Price Range: $15 for eyebrows, $75-80 (depends on how big of a "job" you are) for a full brazillian. She does discount based on how hairy you are, how many items you get, and how often you go to her. She knows skin very well-- she gives facials and whatnot also.
Bedside Manner: Very very very sweet. She has a very sweet voice so it's very easy to just kinda relax during the "painful" process. She walks you through if you need it, she'll pause if you need it, too. Applied oils afterwards to help your skin.
First girl I went to-- and was very impressed. She's my fave, and I was sad when I went to her for the last time (moved to England) and don't really look forward to having to replace her. (though I do plan on seeing her when I am back in Texas!) If you have any questions, you can always call the number above and tell them that you'd like Michelle to call you back, and she will answer any and all questions you have before hand!

Price Range: $55 for Bazilian, $20 underarms, $15 brows
Bedside Manner: Pegi is hilarious. She's super quick about her work and keeps up a near constant stream of chatter talking about travels, work, the unruly state of your bush. She comes out with gems like, "I mugged ya!" after pulling off a particulalry large sawth of hair or "Get out of there you little fucker" when trying to pry out a stubborn little ingrown.
Pegi also does manicures, pedicures, and facials. She's pretty fantastic and, although i've been to many other waxers, she has my devotion now!

4. Audia is, in one word, amazing. For my first bikini wax, she actually had me laughing! She's both very friendly and professional (though she's fairly young, and sometimes the friendliness takes over the professional side of her). Audia tells it like it is and doesn't hesitate to act in whatever manner you want -- if you're having a bad day, she'll stay quiet and get you out of there asap; if you're in a good/talkative mood, she's happy to be the same.
5. She waxes with a soy-base, not an actual wax. For the customer, this means significantly less pain and almost no redness, plus fewer ingrown hairs if you're prone to them.

4. "Bedside manner": She is really friendly *and* professional. I had her for my first ever wax and she put me totally at ease, told me when the most painful parts would be, was gentle - well, as gentle as she could be. Plus she's really easy to talk to and has a friendly manner, to the point that about ten minutes in I kinda forgot I was lying there with my vagina exposed to a stranger :P

4. Shawna is really sweet and very talkative. She remembers what I've told her during previous waxes and asks about my job, my boyfriend, and stuff like that. Not only is she great to talk to, but she is the best waxer out of the three I've had. She is VERY thorough, and I don't know how she does it, but my regrowth is awesomely slow. She will even go after your ingrowns with an ingrown tool if you want her to :)
5. One of my friends went to another salon in town for her first brazilian and had a terrible experience but wanted to try it again. She could not believe how much less painful and quick the brazilian was with Shawna, and she's been back to her several times. Also, Shawna never double-dips and has mentioned that no good waxer would ever do something so unsanitary.

4. Lauren is super nice, gets waxed herself, puts me at ease and is amazingly fast. I've been to 3 different aestheticians for brazilian waxes and Lauren is the best in every way, in my humble opinion. Just don't try to find parking in downtown Ann Arbor on a Saturday in the summer: Farmer's Market is just across the street. :O)
Hope this helps someone! Finding a salon that does brazilians in Michigan was far more difficult than it should have been. Happy waxing!

4. Debbie is amazing. I can't say the same for Lidia though.
5. Debbie does a very thorough job and I love her. Lidia has a vendetta against tweezers and didn't treat me very nicely. They use a lavender cream wax.
