Hey everyone, I just wanted to put a book rec up here...Its called Cunt and its by Igna Muscio. Amazing book...its making me look at myself and women in general so much differently, and I'm not even halfway done with it yet! ;-) Read it.

Yeah, the VP Team is also a fan of the book, which is why we recommend that people read it on our profile page. :P

I met Inga maybe five years ago when she was doing a reading in Seattle at an arts festival. She's pretty sassy/cool!

While I don't necessarily agree with _everything_ she says, I do have to second that it's a wonderful book. Especially since every time I read it, I feel empowered.

I love the hell out of that book. It really made me feel awesome when I read it, I've been giving it to all my girlfriends on their birthdays. They love it too.

Inga Muscio came to a college near me and did a reading. My friend organized the event so I got to hang out with her before and a little after her reading. She's an odd one, but really awesome. She was pissed because while walking down a busy road here that's frequented by sex workers, a few men stopped and asked if he was a hooker.

That book has been on my reading list forever! Now that I work in a bookstore, I'm slowly putting a dent in that list, haha. Cunt will probably be one of the next ones I pick up.

i don't know, i was really turned off by her stance on IUDs, and the chapter that was all about how money is awesome and gow women can empower themselves with materialism. guess we just don't mesh.

I adore that book, especially the parts about taking charge of our own health care. I also really love the introductory bit (added in the second edition) which articulates her intent to include transgender folks. I love books like that even when they don't go out of their way to inform me that I'm included even though I'm not a woman, but I love them all the more when they DO. :)

And as awesome as it is to read it to yourself, it's A ZILLION TIMES GREATER to read it out loud with a friend. Or a bunch of friends. It lends itself VERY well to being read aloud.
