Hi, new member, and I joined because there's this one question that's really been bugging me for awhile.

I know this will sound silly, but here goes: in romance novels or any other sex scene in a book, I occasionally read a certain thought from the dashing hero as he wanders down to the heroine's nether regions, namely "He could tell she certainly wasn't a natural blonde".

Sooo, here's the question: does pubic hair actually come in other colours? Really? 'Cause I'm as natural blonde as it gets and my hair has never been anything other than black. Does this make me a bad blonde, or something?

I think it does come in other colors, but I'm with you! I have blonde (head) hair as well. It's not a super light blonde, but it's definitely blonde. Strangely, though, except for the hair on my arms, my other body hair is dark brown! It certainly doesn't make you a bad blonde at all. =)

(in fact, to add to hair weirdness...my bf has brown hair, auburn sideburns, and blonde eyebrows)

My boyfriend is sorta like that too. He has blonde head hair, Brown side-burns, and his facial hair ranges from white blonde to reddish to dark brown. Boys are made of awesome.

some people dye theirs though.. so some can be unnatural too.

I'm dark blonde, with some brown and my pubic hair isn't blonde at all. It's a pretty dark brown, although I do find the a few blonder hairs every so often.

Good question! It's always been in the back of my mind every time I run across a scene like that.

I am a dark brunette with auburn highlights on my head and my pubic hair is all auburn, which happens to be the color my hair was when I was little. I don't know if that's why. My SO is part Sicilian so all of his hair is black. However, the hair on my mom's head is brown and her pubes, from what I remember from childhood potty breaks, is black.

my boyfriends have always matched, but one. I still remember meeting my ex and once we began having sex, I found his pubic hair to be BROWN. It was then he giggled awkwardly and said, 'Yeah, uh, I dye my hair." Another one of my exes was born a blonde, but his hair became brown, but when it came to undressing, I saw his pubes were blonde.

I'm black haired with some natural auburn & brown tints, but I'm black haired down there.

i have naturally darker blonde hair on my head, light light blonde hair on my arms, and light to medium pubic hair with glimmers of blonde and sometimes a reddish tone. my eyebrows are the same, except for a few white hairs. i do have a spot on my arm where there is one dark brown hair. also, in high school, i knew this guy who had naturally red hair and black eyelashes...all natural.

My roomie and I at school last year are both redheads. Her hair had more of a brown/auburnish tinge, whereas mine is REDRED with natural strawberry blonde highlights. While we're both redheads, have different color pubes - mine are bright redorange, same as my hair (hence earning me the oh so affectionate nickname of FireCrotch, or FC for short), while hers are dark brown/almost black. Yea... we got real close, haha. :)

Yeah, I think it's only the SUPA RED or SUPA BLONDE girls who usually have matching pubic hair. I don't think someone who is naturally a dark redhead or dark blonde will likely have blonde or red pubes.

Hm, I've got dark blonde/slightly reddish hair and my pubic hair is the same color (maybe a little redder), as is my armpit hair (maybe a little blonder). My eyebrows and arm/leg hair are really light blonde though, almost invisible.

It never occurred to me to wonder what kind of variation there is! I wonder why it varies so much.

That's a big myth. You can obviously be a "natural" blonde/redhead/whatever, and still have black pubic hair. It doesn't make you any less of a blonde.

But yes, pubic hair does come in colors-although it's my understanding that is actually fairly rare; most people have black pubic hair. It's kinda rare for someone to have red or blonde pubic hair.

Rare? Huh. My spouse's curls match his hair (well, except they're not going silver now), and my undercarriage fur is dark -- but so is the hair on my head that's not exposed to the sun (back of the neck stuff, for instance).

I wonder if pubic hair tracks eyebrow/eyelash color? My mom once told me, when I was little, that I'd probably have hair that matched my eyebrows. I think it was one of those "kid asks silly question, mom tries to be cool and matter-of-fact" conversations. I've had a few of those with my minx, now.

I've seen brown most often for medium-brown-haired, light brown/blonde, and red/brown. But I've encountered two strawberry blondes with equally with red-blonde pubes (for guys, it seems to match the beard, in my experience) and the only people I've seen with actual black pubes were non-white people (including me), so I guess I figured standard for white people was dark brown.

Maybe I need more of a statistical sample. I wonder how well that works as a pickup line?

My boyfriend has basically the same hair color but his pubic hair is medium brown/reddish (same as his facial hair haha)

I've always thought that phrase was just a silly book thing.

My natural hair colour is dark blond, but my pubes and pits are dark brown and have been since they came in about 24 years ago - back then, my hair was light blond. Just for the sake of saying so: my eyebrows, leg hair and arm hair are all still light blond.

My ex husband has the same colour hair as I do, but the rest of his body hair is really dark brown (he started off light blond, also).

An ex boyfriend had mid-brown hair, but auburn beard and pubes ... and light brown eyebrows.

I gather it comes in all types.

"Darker than my hair" doesn't say a whole lot, but my pubic hair is black, and the rest of my hair is dark brown (including arms). At least the "black fabric test" doesn't work; my pubic hair will match the black. On my head, against black fabric/paper, my hair is clearly just a dark brown.

Really? I thought blonds had blond everywhere. Because I do. All the hair on my body is really light blond, even down there. My eyelashes are too (I always thought that was weird).

I have a medium-dark blonde hair on my head, but my leg hair is dark brown, and pubes are jet black.
My husband however is medium brown all over.
