Hi all! I've been watching this community for a while, but now I finally need it. I want to skip my period this month, but am already pretty far into the pill-free days (I should get my period on friday actually). If I start taking the new pills now, and double up until I catch up, will I be okay? Will I still be protected? Should i make a point of using condoms also, or will that be okay?
Thanks for all your help!

you can shorten your placebo week by beginning a new pack of pills and still be protected with no need for backup, assuming you took no less than 21 active pills last month. If "doubling up" means that you'll take 2 pills at once, there's no need to, as long as you didn't miss/skip pills last month. Since your period is so close to coming, you may get a little spotting anyway, and since there is no sure way to stop a period, you may have to deal with it for a few days, but it seems to me that you could always try it. Since you will be starting the new pack on a day that is not your usual day you will be changing your start day from here on out (if you take it today you'll now be a wednesday starter).

You can try to skip your period by starting a new pack of pills now, but as you've already had a hormone drop it's not at all guaranteed to work, and will be especially hard if you are on a triphasic pill. You will be protected from pregnancy regardless of what you do, as you took your last pack appropriately and you haven't missed more than 7 days of pills for a placebo week.
