Lack of blood?

My period has been about 13 days late, and while having sex with my boyfriend yesterday, he pulled out and there was blood. I know it wasn't a tear, because the blood was a brownish color as it usually is at the start of my period. I was relieved, and bled a little in my underwear before I put my cup in.

I left my cup in overnight and the following afternoon I emptied it.. to find nothing. I had barely any brownish, watered down blood.

What could be causing this? This isn't spotting, is it? I really don't have that much of a fear of pregnancy, so I'm more interested in what the hell is causing my period to be out of it.

I know that when I'm about to start and have sex it induces something.
I generally just use a pantyliner for 2-3 days when I start spotting then whatever femme prox. but my cousin says she spots when she is pregnant, just the first week or two. SO I'd say take a test, and if it is negative I wouldn't worry about it, you can be late for a lot of reasons, so I'm sure you are prolly fine.

Are you in a situation where you're more stressed than usual? I was regular as anything with only two or three exceptions for 10 years until my final semester of college and my brief stint in grad school. During that time, I skipped most of my periods entirely. I wasn't having sex, so I know pregnancy had no role. My gynecologist said everything was normal on the anatomy end. When things calmed down, the periods became regular again. I also had spotting issues during parts of college which I did not have before and have not had since.
