Hi ladies!

My mom has been bleeding for two months now. Her primary doctor told her it could be because she's premenopausal (she's 49), but that was about a month ago. Around this time last year, she missed three months of having her period, but then started bleeding heavily without very long breaks in July (probably due to stress -- my dad was going through chemo and he died in early August). She called her doctor's office today, but the gyno was out, so she'll have to wait until tomorrow. She ate spinach this morning, and I'm going to get her an iron supplement in a bit...

Is there ANYTHING that she can do (or any natural supplements she could take) to lessen the bleeding until she sees her gyno? Last night she was bleeding like crazy and hardly got any sleep because of it.

thank you!

based on what ive heard from my coworkers and my mother, (who is 48 and in peri-menopause), it sounds fairly normal.

my co-worker started menopause when she was in early 40s, and couldnt leave the house because she bled so heavily.

i dont know what else she can really do before she goes to her doctor, but if she's really worried that she's bleeding TOO much, i'm sure a nurse line could reassure her or something.

hope she sleeps better tonight :)
