Okay here I go:
Anyways my periods are irregular I don't have insurance anymore so I can't go to the gyno since I can't afford it. So my boyfriend and I had sex without a condom (yes very stupid of me) and I'm freaking out cause the last time I had my period was back in Feb. I wasn't freaking out much on the first month but after the second I started thinking about how didn't use a condom yada yada even if he pulled out it scared me we first got a pregancy test and it kept erroring (stupid cheap ones) so when we had a enough money we got a E.P.T one anyways I did what I had to and the line in the window that tells you if you did it right appeared so I wasn't worried... but the line(s) that tell you if you are or not kinda worried me after a min a got a negative telling me I'm not pregancy but I was still worried cause it was a very light blue not like the blue in the other window... Is it suppose to be like this or should I take the other test? I wanted to ask before I did so I didn't waste the other test. Please someone help

Wait, what?

A helpful resource is here: http://www.peeonastick.com/hpt/+.html

They have pictures of negative EPT's, I believe..there might be better links on that site.

I don't think it matters that the second line you got is faded. It would only be worrisome of the vertical line had appeared.

It has pictures of POSITIVE EPT's. Does yours look like any of them?

If you have a spare test, then wait a couple days and take another test (using first-morning pee, etc.), but if the first one gave you a negative, you're likely fine, even if it was fainter than the "this test is working" mark.

Another thing to do, after all this time, is take your temperature. If you're constantly running about a degree above "normal" for you, all the time, without feeling actually feverish, then start to worry. If all you're going on is lack of period -- no nausea, no "fever," etc. -- then the negative on the test is probably accurate.

Usually, with the first line, it shows up darker than the second line. And usually the rule is "any line is a line" light or not. I would re-test. Also, I'd call your local health department. They usually offer free pregnancy testing and even care if you find out you are pregnant. But I would definitely do it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Yeah, I can understand the parent pressure thing - them thinking you're too young. It's just there are so many reasons you need to find out and get care as soon as possible. So do the best you can. Good luck and let us know what happens.

The instructions to most tests I've seen state that even if the line is relatively faint, so long as the control line is present and the negative line is visible, it can be considered a final result. So as long as the test was taken properly, I think you can consider this a negative result.

That said, if your period doesn't appear in the next little while, it may be worth visiting a health care professional (perhaps at a public health or sexual health clinic like a Planned Parenthood that offers free or significantly cheaper services) to see if you can take a definitive test, and or discuss reasons why your period has been absent these last few months.

If it were me, I would want to spend the money on the extra test, just for peace of mind. Or go to a clinic. But i would definately be peeing on the second magic stick sometime after the next couple days.

Wait....how long ago was the sex mishap? It's possible that it hasn't been long enough. If you are irregular, then you should count roughly 3 weeks after sex.

count from the LAST time that you had upretected sex, just in case!!!
