So I had sex two nights ago for the first time in.... oh, about seven months. I was expecting some pain, but it was ridiculous.

During sex, I really was not in pain. AFTER, however (as in, immediately after), I felt like I had extreme cramps all around my pubic bone, if that makes sense. They made me feel like I had to pee. I also had a bit of spotting, which stopped pretty quickly, so I'm not worried about that. But the crampy pain was pretty extreme right after sex. We went to sleep and I relaxed enough to fall asleep, but I had weird cramps all day yesterday, an odd kind of pain in my stomach, and even today it hurts a bit.

A friend of mine suggested that he was hitting my cervix while we were having sex, but I'd always heard that when that happens, you're in some pain during sex and it stops about 10 minutes afterwards. Is it possible that he was actually hitting my cervix and, for some reason, the pain just is not going away?

i think you would feel it if he was hitting your cervix. it is a very distinct feeling. i used to get bad cramping after sex, and it wasn't related to my cervix getting hit. never did really figure it out, though. it's been stopped for about a year.

the cramps themselves lasted about 10 minutes, they were very bad. this happened after sex and masturbation. i had them for about 6 months, then suddently one day they stopped and haven't been back. (i was on depo and seasonale during this time and don't think it stopping was related to anything in particular).

I had the same problem just last month, and it continued well about a couple days before I got my period. I found it odd because that had been about the 2nd or 3rd time since my 2-year hiatus from sex. My sister went through the same thing herself because she had rough sex as well, and her boyfriend hit her cervix. She had pelvic pain and there were times she swore she was carrying something in her uterus.

But thank you for asking this question because I'm going through the same thing.. AGAIN and I'm sure he didn't bump my cervix also.

:)

sometimes when my cervix gets hit during sex i can't tell that that's actually what's going on... it's actually a pleasant feeling. however, when it goes on for a long time, afterwards i'll have cramping (and once i had spotting). in talking with my partner, he did tell me that he could tell he was hitting my cervix during sex, and it was those times that i had the cramps, so that's probably what it was.

i *have* had my cervix hit and i *did* feel it right away (and it was unpleasantly crampy), but most times i dont realise till after the fact.

I don’t know where you are in your monthly cycle... but about a week or so before your period (when you are ovulating) your cervix drops down a bit. Making you more susceptible to pregnancy. It's more likely during this time that you would feel a stabbing pain during sex if your cervix is bumped and possibly experience cramping after sex. SO that may give you some insight… It's probably nothing, but I would still recommend making an appointment with your gyno just to make sure you are not experiencing some kind of inflammatory infection or anything.
