offensive to vaginas everywhere

Am I the only one who finds this incredibly insulting?
I'm sure someone has pointed this out before but wow...this was shocking to find.

Date: 2003-02-08 01:45 am (UTC)The photos are gratutious and the entire site seems devoted to making women self concious about their genitalia. It tries somewhat flaggingly to present itself as some "institute" of some sort to lend it credibility, but it fails entirely. I lack enough of the right variety of words to properly express what an absolute waste of server space and bandwidth this site is, and what a waste of oxygen those who created it are.
It is entirely without merit, and almost seems to be a prank, or some method of trying to get women to send information, photos or other personal details about their genitalia to a bunch of adolescent, undereducated pricks who are whacking off and giggling over their ingenious idea.

Date: 2003-02-08 01:50 am (UTC)i was flabbergasted. and then explained to him that vagina size has as much to do with the size of the gal as penis size does with height (he's a shortie so i think that got to him)
now, this isn't an asshole guy we're talking about here. which makes me wonder what other random crap guys are wandering around thinking.

Date: 2003-02-08 02:37 am (UTC)I think this is just another sad, sad case of lack of education. The equivalent of uneducated girls tittering about the size of a man's hands, which, sadly or maybe gladly, have nothing to do with the size of their weiners.
I couldn't read the entire webpage, it was painful to read, really. You know who types sentences like that? Young adolescent boys. Unintelligent, uneducated, unattractive boys who have probably never actually seen a real vagina in person. All they know of vulvas is the pron they can get for free on the internet.

Date: 2003-02-08 02:00 am (UTC)in short, yes it's incredibly insulting, and not as shocking as it ought to be. :\
Men do have visual discrimination imposed on them by women imposing laws prohibiting men from viewing the female body in the public venue, even something as simple as breast showing is strictly prohibited to men. Both males and female have breasts and nipples, its just considered bad for men to view the female nudity in public due to visual discrimination as oppose to women who are more free to view a higher amount of male nudity in public.
i know this part doesn't have anything to do with vaginas, but i feel like commenting on it. both men and women can have sensitive nipples, it's just that women's breasts in this culture are viewed as sexual objects to be coveted. it's not that there is discrimination against men, that they are not allowed to view women's breasts. it's more that there is discrimination against women that they are not allowed to bare their chests in public freely without harrassment, even where it is legal. some people i know are working to change that though.
Here's an article on it: http://ithaca.indymedia.org/media/text/00/00/01/D9/
with a picture...
some good news at least! :)

Date: 2003-02-08 02:07 am (UTC)okay, i actually just need to say that that line alone makes my stomach turn. i mean, it's basically saying that men deserve the right to see women naked. don't you think men have enough privelege?!? ugh. i shouldn't look at this stuff when i'm in a good mood. *closes the window*

Date: 2003-02-08 02:11 am (UTC)There is also the increasing problem that men ask their female counterparts to cover and conceal their vagina’s from view either by asking then to wear some panties of some other garment, so they do not see their vagina when making love. This problem is getting so bad because men are not finding women with a vagina that they prefer, over half of the male population have asked their partner to cover their vagina from their view.
Many men do it because their partners vagina is simple not appealing to them one bit, so the emphasis in vaginal looks and function is extremely important to men.
this is where i thought they were taking their little "joke" or whatever too far.

Date: 2003-02-08 04:00 am (UTC)Anyway, regarding the site, yeah, it's offensive. However, it's SOOO poorly written that I almost pity the poor fools who run it. Almost.

Date: 2003-02-08 08:49 am (UTC)The difference is that neither your friend nor I have created a website that declares this the first and final rule on what should be found attractive!

ACK.
That whole thing disgusts me!!! OMG, I have not the words.

Date: 2003-02-08 05:43 am (UTC)I didn't even know that vaginas all were different until I joined this community, as mine really still looks as it always did (plus hair and baby scarring, heh) but now I am fascinated and in love with beautiful vaginas of all kinds... and hate to see them referred to as 'repulsive'!!!!
I wonder if any men at all were involved in the making of this site, or if it's all women and inhuman marketers who simply are as stupid as they are ignorant?

this made me remember an article i read a couple of months ago, about how cosmetic surgery on vulvas is apparently becoming increasingly fashoinable amongst the rich and famous/infamous. something about wanting the 'ideal' mons, sexily pouting and no 'unsightly', 'straggly' dangling inner labia, or lopsided labia, or anything.
it made me so sad to read that article.

Date: 2003-02-08 06:27 am (UTC)Are these pictures of really large and obtrusive (is that the right word?) inner and outer lips for real? Can they really be like that or is that stretched or something? I've never seen one that looked like that.

Date: 2003-02-08 10:39 am (UTC)EXACTLY! Anyone who would be crass enough to complain about their lover's vulva would quickly find themself not getting laid at all. I think that might be incentive enough to learn to appreciate the "substandard", n'est ce pas?
Well damn girlies...
Date: 2003-02-08 10:58 am (UTC)The quality of your vulva is of 86.5 points.
Based on the answers that you have provided, your Vulva and Vagina is of good quality
And that was based on a scale of 100...pretty uplifting for a waking up in the afternoon....::shifts eyes:: not that I had any doubt mind you...::sarcasm::
Re: Well damn girlies...
Date: 2003-02-08 07:18 pm (UTC)"The vulva and vagina requires maintenance throughout the course of your life, it is an amazing organ, but it does need to be properly maintained with constant physical enhancements or it will decay at a fast rate and become relaxed and dysfunctional, the average woman starts her vaginal decay at an average age of 25 years old, some may be at a younger age then others and from there on it goes down hill, many decay problems can be avoided or reversed by properly maintaining it."
How does one properly maintain a vagina? Sprinkle fertilizer?
I'm dying to know what they mean by "constant physical enhancements."

Date: 2003-02-08 02:34 pm (UTC)All I can say is...I like my pussy so much I that gave her jewelry. ;) Though I still need to look into a new barbell for that (clit hood) piercing...the titanium has lost its color and is now kinda gold-ish...just have to find the time and money and a good piercer (replacing genital piercing jewelry is not a do-it-yourself practice)!
But I digress. Thanks for posting this, evil_abbe. This is a definite case of "know thy enemy," ya know?
Re:
Date: 2003-02-08 02:58 pm (UTC)also, vertical or horizontal hood? i really am considering the wonderfulness that one could be but don't want anything thats too...um...stimulating
did no one find the flick the large labias thing as funny as i did? (link above)

Date: 2003-02-09 03:45 pm (UTC)I chose a barbell once the pierce healed since once I went up a guage or two, I felt a ring was stretching the piercing itself too much. Now I'm up to a 10 guage and don't want to go any higher, but for the initial pierce I'd suggest a 14 guage ring, stainless steel or titanium or the like. Gold is tough to keep in any piercing; it's too soft, and it's even harder to keep in a vulva piercing.
As far as stimulating...I really don't have too much of a problem with it. There are a few times where I'm more aware of the pierce, but it doesn't tend to make its presence known on anything close to a regular basis. I would think that a horizontal ring would make the bead more likely to rest on the clit, but for a vertical ring or barbell, I really wouldn't worry about too much stimulation.
And the initial pierce is painful, but because the hood is a mucous membrane, the pain doesn't last, and if you keep it clean, it heals quickly. (To tell truth, it's in a good region to heal, not to be graphic, but urine is a natural antiseptic in this case.)
I'd say go for it. The short moment of "YEOW!" and (short!) period of healing it have given me years of enjoyment - it feels good to "claim" my vulva as a special, beautiful part of me. :)

obviously not, something they can no doubt blame on the lack of aesthetically pleasing vaginas in their vicinity rather than what they see in the mirror.

Date: 2003-02-08 05:13 pm (UTC)i think that one of my buddies captured the male perspective on pussy pretty well when he said, "if it's sitting right in front of you, it doesn't matter! it's pussy! you have to go for it! if you don't, there's something wrong with you." or something along those lines, at least.

Far from PERFECT....or so they say!
Date: 2003-02-08 09:38 pm (UTC)I happen to think mine is beautiful...and a matter of fact - so does my hubby!
My thoughts are this -
1. This guy, probably either can't get chicks, so he has to put us and our "womanhood" down
or
2. He is just some arrogant asshole guy who probably thinks he is god's gift to women, and in return he NEEDS a PERFECT vagina!
Men - I will NEVER understand them! LoL
