menstrual related anaphylaxis
Feb. 7th, 2003 07:43 pmthis article about anaphylactoid reactions associated with menstruation is very interesting. especially this quote: Exacerbations of chronic urticaria and asthma are well described in relation to the menstrual cycle. i wasn't aware of that, although i'm not sure why i'm surprised. does anyone know anything more about this?

I hate anaphylaxis.
Now, I should go change out of white flannel boxers before I start bleeding in earnest.

Date: 2003-02-07 01:25 am (UTC)that's awful. i hope you're feelin better. my only anaphylactic allergies are certain foods and cats.
in relation to the article, i've never noticed my asthma attacks to be particularly correlated to my menstrual cycle, but then again it's not something i ever considered. i have noticed that my intestines' IBS symptoms react strongly right before and during the first days of my period, so i wonder if that's related.
the ways our own bodies sabotage us is quite incredible.
